After talking with the peeps i went on holiday with and my family on my return its time to sell the Saxo.

I dont really want anything like it again so no, Clio or VTS comments please.

I want something with a bit of comfort and luxuries as i do motorway driving now and 'modding' cars and car shows dont really do it for me too much these days.

I wanted to wait till May but think i wana get rid of it now, means i have less money but heyho. I have around 7-8k to spend.

Ive always wanted a golf anniversary but finding one close enough to me is task in its self.

So I'm open for ideas in my price range.

thanks

paying over the odds for an a4 of a passat

well if insurance isnt too bad then...look at subaru legacy rs saloons or gt estates....i found them handy to insure and they are 276bhp;)

Well German cars probably have the best build quality around and many of them have luxuries inside :y:. They always say 'once you've gone with German you wont go back'. Happened to my family tbh.

Just depends what your after - larger car or still a hatchback?

A2's (you either like them or hate them), A3's are nice, Golfs, BMW 1 series (pushing your limit I know), BMW 3 series.

Or other cars - Civic Type R, Corsa VXR, Cupra R?

Theres loads really!

Clouds_mate
2nd March 2008, 10:42
Im totally open to any ideas for new cars.

Just dont want anything french...

Seems the cars i'm looking at A4's and Ani Golfs 8k is lower of the bunch and they seem to be high mileage shitters.

Luke
2nd March 2008, 11:01
Danny his still selling the TT, but it's a thirsty car - would that bother you?

Obviously I have a diesel now, so I'd recommend getting one or would you prefer Petrol?

You could pick up a very decent Astra gsi for that price. Lovely cars and i believe quite reliable. Comfy as fook as well.

Honda accord type r is in the price range a right laugh. Bullet proof as well iirc.

Mazda RX8 is also in the price range. Good looking cars. Quick as well and have a classy look to them!

A mercedes c180 could be a good choice. Classy car but not sure what it's like living with one.

If i had 10K to go out and buy a car though i'd search high and low for an alfa romeo gt coupe!

Oli_K

Except for when you get the servicing bills, and the petrol bills.......

Well done though, very nice car it is indeed!

Clouds_mate
2nd March 2008, 21:15
service and petrol bill are always going to be high on a nice car though... thats the way i look at it.

In life would i rather drive a little shitbox just because its cheap to fill and service or should i spend the money i have (atm) and enjoy the car i drive for the reasons i pick the type of car i drive.

Suppose i could always carry on spending 200ish on booze a week and enjoy driving my 98bhp french car lol

Very wise idea Leckie. I'm thinking about getting rid of my car and getting something standard and more comfortable. Can't really afford luxury without getting a bigger loan than I already have but I will be happy with a nice little 206 or clio. Must admit its hard finding the right moment to let go of this car though. Been thinking about it for a few weeks now and I still keep changing my mind and hanging on a bit longer. Something tells me I shouldn't have modded the polo
