hi all,

Bought a set of smoked jewels, (marked as direct replacement) but noticed a problem when trying to fit them. When taking out my lexus lights , i undid the nut on the thread, twisted the bulbs out of the holders, and out came the light (so far so good) Then when i went to connect the bulbs into the new lights, there was no gaps in the holders (just a round module)so i could not twist them in :n: Therefore the bulbs would not hold in place.

What can i do ?? :panic:

Where did you get them from? It wasn't ebay was it?

I ran a group buy on these before Xmas and one of the companies I looked into was german place but found out they didn't fit (someone bought them before the buy). I wouldn't really know what to say mate, can you wack some pictures up?

i had 2 vtr`s at one point. and the rear lights on one off them had a bulb tray the light bulbs fitted to and clipped in. but on the other vtr , the bulbs just went into the holes and turned to lock them in. i think you need a bulb tray to solve your problem

Isn't it these that you need?

Bulb holders (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CITROEN-SAXO-1997-2004-BULB-HOLDER-BAYONNETS_W0QQitemZ200203185593QQihZ010QQcategoryZ 10376QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

That looks like what you need man, sounds like you don't have that. If you haven't got that, you should have had them from standard so technically not the companies fault (where you got the new lights).

I can give you the details from the group buy and you can try get them from them? We did buy about 25 sets from them through the buy. Let me know what you want to do bro!

Direct replacement for the standard lights, and obviously Lexus lights aren't standard, so that's why the bulb holders wont fit.

so am i right in thinking (from what i have read) that if they were direct replacement for standard lights, the standard ones dont come with a bulb holder module , if so then how do the bulbs stay in ! sorry if i am being dumb i just dont know

If you had standard lights, the bulb holders from the standard lights (as shown in ebay link) would swap over to your new smoked jewels. :y:

you will need to use the bulb holder from original lights as that is a direct replacement, lexus lights are completetly different. I had to do this today.
