Well guys, went for viewing on a 2000 black vtr today and i am so glad it met all my expectations.

It has 45k on the clock, full dealer service history, two previous women owners, the paintwork is impecable... i am very happy with the purchase. The first thing i am doing when i collect it tomorrow is having it serviced just get it fully checked out, then the real modding can begin!

Firstly lowering, 60 all around, but unsure wether to go 50 ot 60 to be honest. I want to keep the original VTR alloys, give them abit of a refurb and powercoat them white, i know its not to everyones taste but i love the contrast.

I really intend on changing alot, colour code certains parts and smooth the bumpers in. Angel eyes, smoked jewels ( the rear lights, i think thats what they are called)

Induction kit, full exhaust system made up. There is a place near me which does full powerflow systems, so i will probably get one made up there. ( i know people on here don't overally rate them, but was just an idea)

I intend on going all out with this, i am going to fully strip it, buckets, cams, new manifold, throttle bodies eventually.

So much i have in the pipeline, shame i can't do it all at once.

Do you mind me asking, how come you never went for a VTS? Especially with these plans.

Right i did consider the VTS pal....

Its hard to explain, insurance was obvoiusly an issue, i could not get insured on one, without spending alot on a monthly policy. Plus on my pay i would rather like money to do lots of mods to the VTR than just one every month to a VTS for instance.

I think it will become a good and an extremely forfilling challenge to see what i can achieve from the 8v lump.

I will keep you all updated monthly what i get up to.

Cheers guys, i think i may lower 60 all around, i intend on keeping the standard VTR alloys, but put some decent rubber on them.

Is there any pictures of 60 all around? Would be appreciated

but insurancing a vtr with those mods will surely cost more than insuring a vts.

I see what your saying but, by the time i have these mods starting to go on.... throttle bodies, cam, head work etc...

I will be older, and premium will go down.

tbh a vtr with those mods will not be much faster than a typical hot hatch and you will have spent so much more money. think how many vtrs you've heard of on with n/a work?
