right, bought the git off ebay and now have problems.
The unit does not seem to store anything. If i set the time, insert radio stations or set the volumes etc to anything customized, once the unit has been turned off and back on again, nothing is saved. It all reverts back to original settings
Also, when i turn the car ignition on, the unit does not automatically turn on, i have to physically switch it on. And when the vehicle is turned off, the face off the unit remains down and does not automatically retract back
up.
The orange and red cables on the back i have tried changing these round, but when i do that, the unit doesn't function at all
please help me ASAP before it goes out of the window smileys/sad.gif

orange and red?
Want to be yellow and red.
Failing that , go to halfords and get a PC2-04-4 (ISO connector) and try that. Although using one of these effectively is the same as connecting a red to a yellow and a yellow to a red.

what you want is a yellow going to a red and visa versa. Dont worry about the orange as that is illumination wire.

I had this problem in my old car, the reason mine was doing this was the remote wire, make sure this is connected ok and also check the perm live and the ignition live other than that i would take it to halfords i am sure someone there would be able to tell you whats wrong.

the remote wire shouldnt have an bearing on power settings what so ever, given that it is the unit that sends the power down the remote line, it doesnt take any power into the unit.

look fellows the problem is the conection ONLY the memory cable is always yellow.the red is the (+)positive tha black is the ground.you have to connect together the yellow and the red cables.one of it maby the red must also have a fuse.if both of cables have fuses check them if they are ok...another think...do you have iso????.if not there might be another broblem like the switch of the engine.if the electrician engineer didn't conect from the begining the red cable into a constant sourse the problem that you are mentioning will be threre until you fixe that
