Hellooo

My engine is at 65k almost and i want it stripped down and rebuilt. Has anybody had this done and if so how much did it cost?

Can anybody tell me what parts are replaced and how long it takes roughly?....i can then estimate the cost :)

Any help whatsoever would be appreciated.

Thanks

I dont really wanna pay extra for insurance on the vtr conversion. Am thinking the piston rings need to be replaced on the bottom end....would anything else need replacing?

I am looking at gettin a 1.6 Rallye head so would get that stripped and rebuilt at the same time and then fitted onto the rebuilt block all at once.

Cheers

Thanks for that. Im not actually doing it myself but i know a mechanic who charges a lot less than normal garages. Clutch has been done recently so thats one less thing. Im also looking at getting a 1.6 Rallye head so will prob get that fitted at the same time, so old one off and new one on.
