Hello

I have been thinking about getting my engine reconned or replacing it with a lower mileage vrt engine.

Have found a website called HiFlow heads who can do the folowing block for £1380

Fast Road Spec: Short engine , Rebored block , Forged Pistons , Lighened & balanced flywheel, piston rings, Crank reground, Crankshaft bearing set, water pump, oil pump, timing belt kit + oil filter. Fully assemblied. Block decked & painted.

I was then thinking a 1.6 Rallye head (assuming it fits??) with a fast road cam and a complete remap.

Would this work and if so could anybody estimate what bhp it mite put out?

for that money i'd fit a vts engine, low milage one can be had for around £500ish. Unless you're worried about insurance? no point spending that kind of money on what is basically a standard 8v engine, then when you add the cost of the cams and remap etc you're looking at nearly 2k
