REALLY annoying problems *updated*

My saxo is doing my head in for the following reasons:

1) Indicator relay is constantly clicking - doing my head in. Replaced it not long ago.

2) Squeeking comming from the rear drivers side wheel at low speed, (Front pads and disks replaced last week and rear pads and disks were checked at the time)

3) A clunk as if you are going over a drain when pulling away and turning at same time.

4) Rattle in roof / boot

Anyone know what these might be? It's really annoying me.

clunk is common ive heard.mine does it.but my wishbone bushes and trackrod ends need replacing.. sure squeeking isnt the brakes touching the pad lol.or bearing?

lol!! well mines knocks when i turn quite hard when doing a 3point turn.like a clunking noise.sounds like cars shock has moved an inch or so.is that whatit feels like?

Mines clunking when I pull away to strange thing is it only happens first thing in the morning after that it`s fine.

if it son full lock, could be your wheel hittin inside arch??? happened to me on my old xr2i

1 - Either relay faulty again or it might be your indicator switch/stalk id look at replacing that before your relay.

4 - Just check that the clips/screws are all in properly or could be your parcel shelf not on the hooks.

the rattle in MY boot is my sunroof handle. its a bit loose and rattles. might be worth checking.. also check wiper is tight and the cover that goes across the boot. Also check headlining isn't loose.

for the clunking, it might be worth checking suspension could be top mounts or ball joints

Ok problem 1 is sorted, needed a new indicator stalk. Hasn't done it since luckily. However, its caused another problem as airbag light now comes on... great! lol

Other problems still exist

Did you fit the indicator stalk yourself?

When i had the steering wheel off once it pulled the airbag wires out so you may/or someone else has done it and not realised.

Edit - Im getting a rattling noise in my boot now as well doing my head in.

wheel bearing going for the squeak at low speeds? my 106 was like that then started to do it at every speed :P

The plastic pegs on the parcel shelf,you can wrap a bit of insulation tape round them so the shelf sits more firm.

The clunking noise is your ball joints! It was happening for ages for me untill this happend today!

It just gave way and ripped out my driveshaft! I would get it looked at if i where you!

yea have it sorted now! £150 i got charged and its all fixed now with no knocking at all, not to bad really!

Mine did the clunking thing so i decided to take the wheel off and have a look. The arch liner was half hanging off and the wheel was obviously catching on it!!! We bolted it back in it's place and it's been fine ever since :y:

Quick update, Ive sorted the indicator noise, i needed a new stalk and relay so replaced both and doesnt do it now.

However i have the following problems:

1) High pitched squeek comming from drivers side rear wheel (like squeeky brakes but does it when not braking)

2) Airbag light is temprimental - I think its the ring on the steering wheel as it comes on mainly when turning the wheel at full lock alot. I've had a look at this and the connection looks abit shabby. Any idea where i can buy a new 1 cheap?

3) Clunk as if you are driving over a drain when pulling away

4) Drivers side indicator lens has snapped off inside the headlight and is leaning against the headlight glass - Is this a problem for MOT? It still flashes orange.


Any help appriciated cheers people!
