Ait filter Again!!!

Right iv got into the air filter box and removed the old one? now i cant get the new one on?????????? do i need to remove the black plastic pipe that leads into the air filter chamber? will a universal air filet not fit?

what filter are you putting on it? you will need to remove everything off the old one and the new one just fits on the inlet manifold bit! (if you no what i mean!)

Its a universal cone shaped one with a round opening? so apart from the round air filter what else do i take out? im such a dunce

&You just take the old air filter unit out and put that round bit of the air filter over where the old filter used to connect to the engine...

I just installed one on monday as well! It was a bit hard to fit because it was a very tight fit but now that its in its a hell of a difference in sound!!! Now I know what I was missing!

It was only an universal one but makes a lot of difference, hoping to buy a bmc enclosed one but untill I do that one will do fine!

i apologise for bein such an idiot? so i remove the existing filter from the plastic bit then connect the air filter to the large round hole that was joined to the lid part of the old air filter and leave the "lid" part just dangling?

no, remove ALL of the old filter housing. Then the filter should bolt onto the throttle body

Take old filter unit completely to where the blue bit is on this one and install new one there...
