Im thinking about making a boot box cos my mates just gave me an amp and some 6x9's.

Basically all im after is a bit bassier and louder, but not too much.

If i make a box with the amp and speakers and a small sub,

a. is it hard to do?
b. will it be worth it with the 6x9's being in the boot.

Cheers.

i believe 6x9s compromise crisp sound quality to allow for bass. So there is no point in having them if you have subs. The sub will provide the bass so get some components to have good quality mid and high range sounds too

so just leave the 6x9's and get some better quality speakers to replace the stock speakers i have in my doors?

Decent head unit ,
Comp' speakers AMPED up front ,
Sub AMPED in the boot .
Decent wiring and sound deading ,

thats all you need not the shitty 6x9's , bin them and have a look on some web sites for the above .

meh, well if you want a sub id recomend like others would too, is to get rid of the 6x9 speakers, and get Amped components up front, then a sub in the back!

what about powering a sub through the amp and then just changing door speakers?

will this rinse my battery or kill my head unit?

you could do that but it would be better to also get an amp that will power both the Sub and the speakers up front as your front speakers will b crap just off the head unit.

You battery will be fine as will your head unit!!
