Went to hospital this morning expecting to have surgery on my knee because ive torn my ligamants and cartlidge. Got myself all physched up for it the night before. Hate hospitals and most of all needles/injections!
Went to the ward sat around for like an hour and a half, had a few tests blood, blood pressure etc. Then this surgeon comes over and says that he doesn't feel that he is skilled enough to do my operation and wants another surgeon to it! :wall:
So now its been delayed till the 7th April, second time its been delayed because of them not knowing what there doing. Originally booked in for the 18th january! So frustrated it's untrue! I just wanna get it over and done with!
Anyone else had any problems with the most retarded health service in the world?

Perhaps you would have felt it better to have been operated on by a surgeon who could not carry out the operation? At least they acknowledged their limitations.

yeah fair enough i can accept the fact that he admitted that, but i wasn't even supposed to be sent to that surgeon anyway! My original surgeon requested that he personally do it,and then they just send me to a totally different surgeon that has got next to none experience!

My girlfriend has been waiting nearly 2 years for surgury on a huge weeping lump..... she had an op on it 2 years ago, but the surgeons ballsed it up and made it worse, so she went back to them about it and it has taken them up till now to get a date for surgury again... they best get it right this time or I'm gonna go ape on them!!!!
I've recently damaged my ligaments and twisted my tibia, fibula and knee cap, plus my hanstring has seized up....... my doctor referred me to the NHS, but I said "Naaaa, it's OK, I've got Corporate Health Insurance, I'll give them a call instead of waiting a year for the NHS to write to me". Called the Health insurance place on the Wednesday and I started physio that Saturday at our local Private Hospital.

shame you still have to pay a proportion of your tax to a service you don't need :(

Thats awsome that you got the ball rolling on it all within a week! My first physio appointment was last july, and it's taken them all this time to get me an mri scan and then decide to operate. Private ftw!!!

and just think spossidly we are better off paying TAX on "FREE" health service...
tell you what i can call my docs at 0800 and get seen that day get a time and be seen at that time. hospitals are fine up here aswell from experience
my gfs in nottingham and OMG her appointment at the docs is say 1, we would NEVER! get seen by even 2 its a joke, shes about to give birth and only JUST got a midwife weeks before the birth.. never even got told about anti natal classes in any kind of way....
i went to there walk in centre as she needed perscription drugs asap they said no go away and die from lack of these drugs you have paperwork for..... she came to mine in darlington ran out of these drugs she needs. went to hte walk in centre within 30mins they sent us to the hosp to pick up her perscription yet her walk in centre treat us like druggies yet the drugs she uses are ONLY for chromes disease cant be used for out else. i tried telling them we got them at darlington asap no problems they called us liars and told us to go away fkn retards, absolute joke of a service in nottingham i must say

Luckily I get it paid for through work..... I pay the first £75 excess when making a claim, then they pay the rest..... the assessment appointment was £90 on it's own, then each session after that is around £50... I can have up to 10 sessions.

Try asking BUPA to send an ambulance because you have been involved in a car accident and require lifesaving surgery within the hour. I think you will then find that the "service you don't need" may actually come in rather useful.
Also, ask what happens if your insurance claim limit is reached part way through a course of treatment.
