Youll need some clear silicon for a start!

Mine leaks, well it actually leaked, i was just going to have it sealed up with silicone an not use it as they are a waste of space anyways! (when i say leaked i meen it left a big puddle in the passanger footwell!)

I went to a garage and he advised to check the drain holes to see if they wer blocked but i cudnt locate them so i went back, and he then told me to put sum wax/grease all over the seal, and warm it up with a hair dryer, thus expanding the rubber a little, i then closed the sunroof, and left it, its pee'd down with rain a few times now and has never leeked it again, and am i hell opening the bloody thing!!!

(make sure to close it very very tight aswell and giv the glass a push down as you do so)

hope thi may help :y: :y:

Mine leaked, then had a look at the subbet seal and it kept popping off at the corners so i bought a new one, that poped in and stayed as it should.

No problems after that.

If your car has leeks in the sunroof, I'd suggest a quick visit to this website (http://www.british-leeks.co.uk/index.htm)- it has all sorts of leek information.

Alternatively, clear silicone will suffice for leaks.

I wouldnt advise just getting a new seal, yeah it might sort the problem for the time being, but when that seal shrinks slightly youll get the problem back...

Leaking through the seal is normal, citroen knew it would happen which is why they installed drainholes in the sunroof, problem is, they can get blocked.

I had a leaking sunroof problem, trader I bought the car from said oh, dont worry, I'll seal it up for you, which he did, but he sealed the bit where the sunroof housing meets the car, did f*ck all since that wasnt where it was leaking from.

If its leaking from the aerial bolt, get a bigger nut and wack it on or silicone seal it on the inside, problem sorted there.

If its the drainholes, youve got a potential 2 fold problem, one, unblock the drains, two, the drain holes do not sit at the 'bottom' of the sunroof, so you always get a pool of water there, not much a problem if the water is draining away but when its not it begins to rust through, and when you turn a corner or it gets too full it spills over onto the plastic where the interior light sits and makes its way through the light/winding handle/sensor for remote locking.

To get at the drain holes, you have to drop the headliner out, which means removing /all/ pieces of trim/plastic that are connected to it, sun visors, handles etc, youll need torx bits for these, about 25 or 30 i believe, youll also have to obviously remove the housing of the interior light etc. When you remove the winding handle, theres a screw in the middle of it, then a screw connecting it to the roof, theres 2 screws to the side of where the handle sits, dont remove these ;)

Once trim is removed, youll have to take the front door seals partly off and i /think/ part of the back window seals. Get a flat bladed screw driver and from the inside of the car, carefully insert it between the car and the seal, and prise down, at the same time using your thumb prise and pull down at the same spot from the outside of the car, it is stiff but will come out, then just pull it down, it only needs to be taken off as far down as the grey plastic pillar covers. When you put it back on, obvously start where it is already on, give it a good wack to make sure its right on and doesnt have any 'kinks' in it.

Pull down the grey plastic pillar covers, front and middle, for the middle ones to come off youll need to take off the seatbelt, just pop the cap with a screw driver and take off the bolt, easy. The pillar covers are held on by clips, it will take a bit of force to get them off.

Once theyre off, youll need to open the sunroof and unscrew the 6 nuts you can see, these are what is now holding the headliner up, the 'screw' part is on a square shape screw fitted in a slot on the headliner, make sure they dont drop out and you lose them when the headliner comes down, store em in a jar if you want.

Headliner should now be down, which means the sunroof itself can now be removed. You should be able to see the screws holding it on, there are also 2 screws hidden inside some foam at the rear end of the sunroof, just cut out/pull away the foam around the screws to get em out.

Once the screws are undown, the sunroof can literally be lifted out, I recommend 2 people so it aint dropped when your pulling it out ;) Once its out the drain holes will be visible, and youll instantly be able to see if 1 or both of the holes are blocked, if they are, theres your problem :)

In my case, the trader had polished the car before handing it over, and evidentially rinsed the car down afterwards, and some of the polish helped by the water and made its way into the sunroof, down the drain holes, and solidified. I can tell you right now there is NO WAY to get to any part of the tube apart from the entrance. The exit is inside the sill of the car and the tube runs down the inside of the pillar and obviously then the inside of the car.

Wire will only go so far down the car, it takes a turn or something, if the wire you have is thin and flexible enough you might just make it round but I had no chance. I used a combination of drain deblocker, rust desolver (why will become evident) hot water and a bit of ingenuity with some blue tack, hose clip and a footpump to put some pressure into the pipe, and a nifty little device that sucked air out, which is what eventually managed to clear it out.

Once the block is sorted, you have the second problem of the rust thats probably formed where the water has been sitting. There was a post made in the forums where someone showed how he basically removed the rust and then undersealed the area, but cant find it at the moment, but thats what you wanna do, rust out and underseal in :y:

You then get the fun job and putting everything back in ^_^

Ive sorted the drain on mine but still have the rust to contend with, be sorting it soon, will take pics of removal of everything if people want so theres pretty pics to follow instead of just text :)

Hope this helps, Lawz
