does anyone have any idea of the gear and final drive ratio's of a civic type r or a clio 197 or similar performance cars?
or any idea where i can find that type of info.
basically i need to specify gear ratio's and the final drive ratio of a new car that i have to design for my uni coursework.

actually if anyone knows the ratio's for a vts, that would be heplful also.

inside the gearbox, pull it apart and count the CW+p teeth.
oh, on paper you mean, right.
fd 3.938
1st 3.417
2nd 1.95
3rd 1.36
4th 1.05
5th 0.85
VTS box.

well thats the questions we should all ask ourselves. What does it all mean.
Basically each number is a ratio of the input shaft teeth to the output shaft teeth in each gear. The FD is the ratio of the crownwheel teeth (big ring round the diff) to the pinion (drive gear on output shaft).
Make sense? If not, ill do a quick pic later.
