i bought this wiring kit http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/6733.html off ebay but it has flat speaker wire :zainy: and im going to connect it to the old speaker wire but what would be the best way to do it bullet connectors or solder it and put insulation tape round it :fcuk:

one last question there is the best place to join them at the door or up at the head unit and how do i know what wires to cut into:panic: sorry for the stupid questions but this is the first time iv put comps in (i have had my sub in for 1-2 months and put the wire in just haven't got round to doing it yet) and dont want to get it wrong

cheers for the help guys :y:

i would just join them up behind the sterio as its the easiest place. as for knowing what wires to cut, your sterio should have a sticker on it telling you what wire is what. for the connections to join together i would just strip them, twist them together and put into connector strip. but remember when you cut the wires put the loose ends you won`t be using into tape. just so it doesn`t short out on anything. hope that helps you out.

it makes no difference but bullet connecteors are easier for removal purposes

id be be stripping both wires back, put some heat shrink over the wire before you start connecting them, twist them round each other cover them in flux then solder them and finally slide the heatshrink over the soldered bit and heat up

thats the proper way, i find bullet connectors easily come off

Bullet connectors are sheet.

Get a soldering iron from your local DIY store for about a tenner :y:

if your wiring them from the headunit id just use the speaker wire you got with the components kit and wire them into the wires already in teh door

when you get and amp then use the speaker wire in the wiring kit from the amp right to the door and into the crosover, then from crossover to the tweeter and speaker

i have already got a 4 channel JBL amp that i have my sub wired into so i just need to wire the comps in and wire them to it

so what would be the best way to wire them from the headunit loom, the car loom behind the headunit or the car loom at the door

cheers

yeah mate wire them form that amp for sure, did i suggest that stuff???

amps perfect for a sub and components system, bridge channels 1&2 or 3&4 for the sub and use the spare channels to wire the components up, have a look at the stickies on how to wire them up
