I have a W reg VTR and i want a new exhaust. what exhaust do i need <2000 or 2000>. Also the cat is under the car but i thought mk2 cats were in the manifold???

Your car was probably made just before the change over. If your cat is under the car then you need <2000. :y:

I'd say 2000> but as Lozza_vtr said, the best way to find out is check where the cat is, if it's under the car then it'll be <2000 :)
