mine dose this only comes on if i turn the key all the way and start the car straght away if i turn it to the last one before starting the car and wait 3 secs it gose away never coused me any probs yet

Haha thanks immense......looked in my manual.....n it says manual dipstick....that means? lol

its basicly a light to warn you to check you oil level.

its ment to come on for 3 seconds when u turn the ignition and then go off.

though mine stays on for about 30 seconds due to a bad sensor.

best bet is check your oil using the manual dipsick and then your know if its a sensor or not.
