View Full Version : Raz Progress Thread - Update page 11
Its been a long time coming....but here is my progress thread.
I have been meaning to do it sometime ago...but never could be assed :P
.................................................. .................................................. ....
Anyway....i got my Saxo VTR in October 2007. I used to own a 1.1i white Saxo, but thought it was time to move on after getting a years driving experience. I was looking for a fairly low mileage VTR/S (fussy i know) but came across a 22k VTR that was to good to turn down. The seller had it up for £3300, but ended up getting it for £3100 becuase the TAX ran out at the end of the month and the MOT was due in the middle of November aswell.
Leeroy Brown arranged to meet up with me to have a look at the car, as i didnt have a clue what it was i was looking for (problems etc). So a Big THANK YOU goes to Lee for the help etc....
This is how it looked about 2 weeks after i owned it...sorry if the pics to big!

As you can see in the last picture...it has a dent just above the number plate, to the right. I will be sorting out all the little niggly problems in the coming months.
The car is now on 28k....and ive done 2 mods to be percise (DIY job ftw). I swapped my centre section plus some dolla with Leckie for his full Scorpion Exhaust System.
Me and Leeroy travelled to Wakefield and met up with Mark51 and eventually Leckie. Although i never actually helped swap them over (me and Leckie were chatting on about something whilst Lee and Mark were doing the job for us :y:) I learnt how to do a full exhaust system should i come to get a new one. (a BIG thanks goes to Lee for helping out with everything, also Mark for the use of his tools and trolley jack etc, also Leckie for turning up! and doing a deal with me in the first place, and MOST of all, Mark's Missus....It was her Birthday that day and let Mark out to play for a couple of hours....so THANK YOU!
Since then, I havent really had the funds for modding the motor...so just kept it clean and enjoy my new ride...
January was the time where i thought i should do some DIY mods...but only decided to do 1 in the end...that was attempt to Remove the Door Pins.
What an ass ache...i followed Simo's guide (yes i know its for a mk1, but it does give tips on how to remove the mk2 pins aswell). In the end, I just cut the ends off the pins as I couldnt get them off and it was getting dark...so was getting cold (yes, I am a pussy).
And thats where we are today with it....
Im planning on going the Smoked Theme route as I think its the best way to go with Icelandic Grey :y:
Plans to do in the near future.....
Exterior
Smoked Rear Jewells
Smoked Side Repeaters
Smoked Standard Headlights
Smoked Fogs
Powder coat the VTR rims in a darker colour (Anthracite or Pug Cossack Grey)
Lower 40mm on Springs (dont knwo which is best springs to get) with the Blisten Supersprint B8 Full Suspension Kit
206 GTI brake set up with 266mm discs
All the problems (dents and scratches) sorted
Interior
Ive always been a fan of Momo products since I got into moddified cars...so im going to try and stick with that
Momo Team steering wheel
Momo Grand Prix pedals (ali/black)
Momo Pit Stop handbrake (carbon look)
Momo Atlantis Seats (x2 in Black)
Performance
I'll just be buying mods that i will be able to stick onto a VTS engine as I plan to do an engine swap in the near fututre...
Thats all I can think of for now....hope you like and I will welcome all comments :y:
P.S. Sorry if the pics ar to big

gti 180 brakes are 283mm and wont fit under vtr rims, and why have you put discs all round?!

looking good so far :y: nice colour - but i'm biased
266mm brakes are what you want for vtr wheels, i'm going on a scrappy hunt for mine in the next week, you can find them on 206 gti (not 180), some 306s (hdi, tdi...), berlingo vans, some 307s (not the 2.0Ls) etc. 406 ones won't fit though iirc.

UPDATE
Well, its been a while since ive siad anything in this thread, mainly because I havent done anything since you last seen the car. Only real thing that has happened was about a month and a half back....my cat snapped clean in half travelling back from the G/F house...so as i was taking it to the garage the following morning, and the front of the whole exhaust hanging down, i ended up hitting a speed bump (as much as i tried to avoid it)...so the whole thing came off...needless to say, i ran infront of a bus to salvage the exhaust, and drove to the garage with it hanging out the window...well all of that it sorted now so all going well :)
I have only really done some changes to my car in the past 2 weeks...de-wipering, badges black, meshed grill and smoked headlamps.
Here's the pics....
Dewiper Before

De-wiper After
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff42/Raz1988/DSC00098.jpg
Meshing my Grill...prepping done over a couple of days....

And the finished article

Grill and smoked lights on the car
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff42/Raz1988/DSC00128.jpg
I had help from Matty_VTR on here with all the 'mods' thats now on the car. So big THANKS goes to him for it!
we still need to make the grill fit flush as it sticks out a little on the corners..pic below
http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff42/Raz1988/DSC00176.jpg
Will be sorted by the end of the week :)
All the plans are still pretty much the same barring the suspension...ive decided im just going to lower it 50mm on Eibach Sportline Springs...im not after the best handling car, just something that can handle better than standard and looks better than standard.
Lowering will commence once i have got all the dents out as i havent got round to doing it as of yet...hopefully before end of July the dents will be out and the car lowered :)
then VTR rims in Pug Cossack Grey or Anthracite come August/Sept :)
All comments welcome :y:

correct...when the whole exhaust came off...would have thought people have realised that as the WHOLE exhaust came off...so you would expect damage on the rear bumper lol

UPDATE
Well, its been a while what can i say. Things havent gone the way i have hoped. Money was still a problem, so made myself get a 2nd job to get me out of debt and now im just saving. Im out of debt...didnt think i would say that this year! HAHA. I've got my Tax to do this month, then next month i have MOT and also Insurance to do...so any plans to buy things will be next year.
My car is in the body shop on Thursday & Friday, eventually getting them dents, scratches etc out. Has only taken me 10month to get ass in gear! Will post pics of before and after shots on Saturday when i get car back :)
I'm planning on doing my Suspension, Brakes and Alloys all around the same time. So im currently saving for the B8 Blistien Sus kit with Faulkner 45mm springs, the Carbon Lorraine Pads RC5 all round and OMP discs, and alloys eventually refurbed in a Darker colour (Thinking of Anthracite, Rover Gun Metal Grey or Pug Cossack Grey...undecided!). Once i decide on the colour, the Chevrons on my grill will be coloured to match.
I want it something like this -
http://i25.tinypic.com/2lviyx1.jpg
But for now...im concentrating on getting car back to standard, and getting the Tax, MOT and Insurance sorted. Then I will start saving more. Once Xmas is out of the way, I will try and plan on getting my car ready so i can take it to FCS, Trax and i might even consider the Nurburgrig...but thats thinking abit far ahead isnt it ;)
Comments welcome. As mentioned...before and after pics from Body shop will be posted by the weekend :)

Lmao. At least your honest! If you reply to this it will be another post closer.....
Think this is due an update!
Well, as everyone know's, I had my car in the body shop to sort out the little niggles that made me hate my car. KM Design did a top top job and would highly recommend them for anyone in the N.E looking at getting stuff done :y: Pics of the car will be taken tomorrow once I have gave the car a good ole clean and going to clay bar it for the first time ever! Hopefully, it will shine up and look as good as it deserves LMAO
I was toying with the idea of selling up and getting myself a Clio 182 Trophy, but that isnt realistice just yet, so plans are to keep the Saxo until I have had 4 years NCB and 4 Years Driving Experience. In which time I shall be saving money :)
I am booked up for FCS, got my Hotel, Tickets etc sorted, and I will be making an appearance in my car this year :y: which means I had best get my ass into gear to get it sorted within 14weeks! Here is what I have planned for the car and this time, I have the funds to sort it out! woop woop!
Apex Sports Suspension Kit (35mm)
Powerflex Bushes all round
KamRacing Fast Road Brake Kit (Maqtorq front and rear brake disks with Mintex M1144 compound pads all round)
Exact Braided Brakeline Kit
OMP Front Upper Strut Brace sprayed Anthracite
Rocker Cover Refurbed in Anthracite
VTR alloys Refurbed in Anthracite
Magnex Exhaust (pending)
Xport Linkages and GE Quickshift fitted
Full interior Valet due to the previous owner getting paint on the passenger seat, and a few other stains on back seat ;)
Full detail on the car
New Pressed LEGAL numberplates
Fogs to be smoked as I havent got round to doing them yet
Front mudflaps removed (back ones practically snapped of, havent got round to removing the front ones)
Engine bay detail by myself
Fingers crossed all the above can be done by 14th June for FCS! I will try my god damn hardest! In between this it will have a FULL service which is due in 3.5k miles.
So there you have it...hope you like the idea's, and hopefully get it done this time!

thought you had the 266mm setup? if not then imo it would be more beneficial to get them instead of upgrading what you already have.

good list there mate.

Cheers mate...its what I am aiming for. I worked out costs etc of having a Clio 182 cup/trophy, and right now, I couldnt afford it. I was being my typical self by rushing into something when still having to pay off my loan for the saxo (Oct 09 it stops) so I might as well keep my car, and also keep it until i have 4 years NCB (Nov 2010)

I was thinking of getting the 266mm setup mate...and I dont really know why I didnt/havent got it. I can imagine the stopping power being pretty decent with it, but then, I can also see the stopping power being improved alot with an upgrade of disks and pads.
good list there mate.
Cheers man. I'm still going to be test driving a Corsa VXR soon ;) so that still may be on the cards next year ;)

Whooo a bump in my thread LMAO
JJJJJJaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeee eeeeeeee - It is a fair list...but having second thoughts about the Dampers and Spring choice. I think I should have just went all out on the sus I wanted form the start - Bilstiens B8s with 35/45mm Faulkner springs...hmmm. I have my Suspension stuff coming tomorrow (Sus kit + Springs, Upper Strut Brace and Bushes), and may try to get them fitted this week or next week to see if the Apex kit is good. I may have a crack at doing in myself, cant go wrong with a Haynes surely? LOL
Tom - fingers crossed that it will be done. Not long to go now. If i cant get it done, everything i will want will be done this year ;) and probs before Trax LOL

Next on the list for me is to get the Sus shizzle fitted. And then I will move onto the breaks. Hopefully getting some 266mm calipers from Viper pretty soon :) the chassis will near enough be sorted then. Then I will move onto a Janspeed Mani+Sports Cat and Exhaust system and the tunig starts. Will start with the usual breather shit, then cam and remap :)

Anyways, back on topic. What do people reccomend for the tuning side of things? Im on about the type of cam, not just 'cam'. I am after a fast road set up on a car that is used as a daily driver. Where to go for a remap as well? Im thinking of Janspeed exhaust shizzle, a BMC CDA as the filter...also, the main one really...WHAT GEARBOX?
Pictures...been along time coming thats for sure! LOL never got before and after pics.

http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/ff42/Raz1988/DSC00487.jpg
Cheers bud, will be a welcome addition to my engine bay when i get it all sorted :y:
I also have my suspension coming tomorrow (Tuesday 07/04/09). I am getting the Apex Sus kit with springs that lower the car 35mm. Trying these out, if i am not happy with the height, i will sell on and save for the kit i wanted...Bilstiens B8's with Faulkner springs 35mm/45mm (see what the ride height is like at 35mm with the Apex. I also have an OMP upper strut brace, looking at painting it same colour as my car (opinions on this please) and also getting bushes all round.
Hopefully getting them fitted ASAP, and also a full interior valet :y:

Im not sure tbh mate, im sure they will be fine as they are designed to do a job
Your best bet is to find a progress thread for a track car on here ;)
Looks a nice car once i get the paintwork sorted on the ZS buffed i may consider selling to buy a VTR, although it seems much more reliable and well built then my old VTR.

I'd say keep the ZS and do everything you have got planned. Would be a really mint ZS...your welcome in the sax-p community

The Blistiens will be good but im sure the Apex ones will be also, check out what others who track their paxos buy, eitherway mate im sure they will do the job perfectly well :)

I think its good to see a diff car on the thread, like rushy's 106, Cal's Clio Cup, Karls 106...i see a trend going on here with it being french LMAO If you were to sell, will you have same mindset as before by buying a VTR to keep costs down? or go all out for a VTS?
No one uses Apex for track, they are more designed for road use. I think i'll fit them then check, if not, someone going to get a bargain LMAO

If i were to sellup id check insurance for the S as ive always wanted one because thy're shit off a shovel, but if insurance is gay then no S lol if i went for an R it would have to be something very similar to what you have ie mint, later model 2001 being oldest & low miles.
Raz are you planning to track the car?
Just remember people are like sheep, one buys a brand and says its good someone else does the same then they all start to follow then the brand is well known for being 'the chosen one' anything else is just shit why the fuck would you be different sort of thing?,
Just because people dont use them on track doesnt mean they will be naff i bet they will be just as good...
Take for instance my Simota Cai, people are more likely to buy a BMC why? because everyone has one and no one wants to be different and maybe find a better maybe even cheaper alternative (although around same price now). My simota was specifically made for the gti 180 they dont make filters for every car just select but people would be all over a BMC if they were side by side lol.

VTR to save extra cash imo. Can make it as quick as a standard S ;) thats my plan anyway (thats being different from the usual S conversion). Seen a few decent ones on Pistonheads t'other day.
I would like to go on track once or twice yea...think it be a blast. I suppose what your saying is the Apex kit would be able to go on track for a couple times a year and still be fine...i'll fit them to see what they are like, can always change if i am not overly happy with them.
I get what your saying...talk alot of sense sometime J LOL

How much would you need to chuck at a Vtr to make it as quick as a std vts?
Sometimes!? lol its true though, remember also the suspension kit you have bought was an upgrade for the paxo im sure a full kit is made for the odd track day, why would anyone need a proper kit just for the road lol surely some lowering springs would do the job if you catch what im saying?
The kit will be fine ;)

Ermm...not too sure tbh. If its purely the tuning side of things, then the usual breathing mods with a cam and remap will see 120-130bhp from the VTR engine. Considering everything £500 for Mani and Exhaust, £300 for cam with everything you need, £200-300 for remap? Panel filter £40, breather filter, £30...not alot really considering tuning on other cars are alot more. Plus, you would have the benefit of having VTR tax instead of VTS (saving about £100 a year for something the same).
We shall see about the kit ;)

Nah all they do is waffle on about frp 1.7 this 1.7 that & then throttle bodies,
Tbh im going to strip it out, take off the spare wheel & carry on sorting out breathing!

Didnt take a single pic of the Strut Brace. I am in 2 minds about what colour to do it...Im thinking of Ice Grey to match the car (seen this on some peoples car colourcoded to that car and looks good) or have it Yellow? As I will be having Yellow calipers (when I recieve them) and also getting the Citroen Sport side badges from DNN Signs, also in Yellow. I have a Yellow rocker cover badge already on my Gun Metal Grey rocker cover.
Opinions please and any ideas always welcome.
Fingers crossed these will be fitted ASAP :y:
C&C as always :)
Luke

Leave strut brace as it is mate, like the picture I showed you yesterday.
Do you want that fitting when you come down?
Red will look out of place, as there wont be any other parts on the car thats red...hence why yellow was an option, or same colour as the car (Ice Grey).
I should be able to fit it myself mate, if i am changing the colour, i'll be prepping it soon then spraying then fitting in a couple of weeks

HAHA dont lie.
You got a VTS yet? LOL
What do you think of the strut brace colour choices? yellow or ice grey?
Jamie
7th April 2009, 22:33
Sadly i dont got me a VTS yet lol:(
Imo, ice grey
I dont really like lots of different colours in the engine bay, that silicone hose i bought was opted for in black for the ZS (they didnt have none)
What about anthracite? Oem look is best though so between anthracite & ice grey. Ice grey would look like it was part of the chasis!
Yellow could be cool depending on what else you opt for yellow lol.
This time im really going to bed so il check back tomoro x

Looks lovely and clean that mate.
Painted rockers always improve things and you've picked the best colour ;)
It is 'clean' but not up to the standards I want. Got a few idea's in mind to crack on with over the coming seasons :)
Rocker looks spot on Raz
Cheers bud...a VTS gearbox will be a welcome addition to the transmission as well ;) let me know when its free. Im through Geordie-land way on Thursday getting Torsion bar lowered...if its off, be perfect to pick it up then ;)
Yea looks awesome mate! can I have you old one to paint up?

Cheers bud. Remember when you said careful about any nuts/washers/bots getting in? well, a nut happened to get in LMAO but got it out straight away with a magnet :y:
You can have rocker cover bud. In exchange for smoked fogs ;) I can bring it to you tomorrow and can drop the fogs off? Text me to let me know :)
Progress coming thick and fast now mate.
Looks good :A:
Plenty more things to come yet Lukey ;) set myself goals when I 1st got the car and havent lived up to it...now its all coming together :)
Interior will be good as well once you have had a go at it :y:
Looks good like but you know how I feel about Magnex exhausts. :p Get a Piper, they are loud but sound bloody awesome!
Piper too loud for what I would like matey :n: I prefer the deep subtle exhaust note compared to a loud/raspy exhaust note from a Piper or a Supersprint for example :)
Looking good Razmus!

Cheers J!
Not up to your standards is it? LOL It will get there!

Update
Managed to get hold of a standard grill (cheers Yates) and decided I wanted to go with a standard grill with black chevrons. Havent got pics yet as I'm still waiting to give it a good clean.
I also visited Manic Motor's on Friday. The plan was to originally have a VTS gerbox fitted, with a Griffiths Engineering Quickshift fitted, but after Chris took it for a test drive, he realised it was a small pin making it hard to select gears etc as there was alot of play in the gearstick. So, we decided to replace the pin and fit the quickshift on the R box, and it has transformed it loads! I love it. Manics also done the Torsion bar to match the front and it handles soo much better than it did with the front down 35,, and the back standard LOL
More progress to come shortly, and pics will be added when I have chance :)
Spec sounds good matey. If you're wanting to fit a PH3 and raise the rev limit, you need uprated valve springs, caps and washers. Might as well get the head skimmed (to raise compression) and ported/ polished too. It's a massively expensive route to go down though, you're looking at £250 for the valve springs/ skimming of the head.
To be honest, if you're hell bent on camming it drop a PH1 or Kent PT40 in and time it up on the standard pulley. Should make decent power with breathing mods. Mine will be an ideal benchmark when I eventually get it sorted.

not fitting the box raz?
Update sounds good razmus posting sticker today x
not fitting the box raz?
Well, the reason why I wanted to swao thge box becuase the R box had alot of play in the gearstick, making it hard to select gears as it was all over the place wobbling about etc. I'm keeping the VTS box and may get it fully rebuilt with a Quaife as well...see what happens though :)
Jamie - Cheers buddeh...dont be sending anything dodgey to my address unless its pics of your missus and her insides :P

Underneath the rear seats I found this -
Top of a cap from a Smarties tube
An old reciept from Safeway (dont think they exist anymore and Morrisons bought them out?)
1p (thats 1p more out the credit crunc)
A bit of paper that said something about an MC rapper
Clumps of dirt and dust
The car is getting a full detail on Saturday, so expect this thread to have updates with pics as well :)
I didnt 'shave' the Alcantara this time round, will no doubt do this next weekend when I am getting it detailed.

What do people think? Expect more updates in the future as I havent finished with this just yet ;)

Sell me the top of the smartie tube dude! lol
Ronnie - I feel a tad lower, not alot though. Seats are very comfy as well :)
Viper - Your opinion means nothing to me! glad you like them buddy
Craig180 - Yes I cleaned the inside of my car LOL As you can see from the pics, it was terrible (look at the cloth pics again). I only noticed how much shit there was underneath it because I had to take the rear bench out when I went to collect the leathers from Berg. If I didnt buy the leathers, then I wouldnt have noticed and I wouldnt of cleaned it! Now it has been cleaned, I wont be doing it again for aloooooooong time.
Bondie - top of the Smartie tube is in the post, free of charge. Just 38p for postage which I am willing to pay!

ValetPro PH Snow Foam
Bilberry Wheel Cleaner
Car washed using Carlack68 Shampoo
Dried using Megs Drying Towel
The car was then clayed in stages as I went along, using Megs Quik Detailer, then I used Menzerna Intensive Polish with a Kestral PC. It was then buffed off with a Microfibre Polish Towel, then again polished with a Menzerna Final Finish. I proceeded to do for all the car, then the it was waxed using Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish.
All windows were cleaned with AG Car Glass Cleaner
Tyres dressed with Megs Hot Tyre Shine
Bumpers/Sidestrips with Megs Gold Class Detailer

Would just like to say a big thanks to Luke for making time to turn my car from what it was into what it is now :y: spot on mate. Will defo recommend you to other people, and also be coming to you for advice on the gear needed etc :)
---------------
I picked up my 266mm brakes from Viper. I will be getting these sprayed in a Gun Metal grey colour and then fitting them to the car eventually. I have to get some 40mm Spax springs (there was confusion with Kam Racing about the Apex spring and how much it lowered by) so I will more than likey fit the brakes at the same time as I fit my front springs :)
I decided to crack on with cleaning my arches. They havent been done since the car left the factory 42k miles ago, so you can imagine the ammount of sh*t under there :wall:
Here are the pics I took :)

LOL Cheers Stevo. The Leathers are Awesome :) was it worth £400?? Hmm, right now I would of liked the money, but then someone else would be pimping these leathers and thats not right! Only I can pimp such good leathers :P
---------------
Things to do. Well, after considering getting a 172 Cup, and after a loooong chat with Sianny (she talks sense to me!), she told me that I havent really got alot to do on the car. As I want to move out in the next couple of years after saving some ££, it is best not to buy a new car and just maintain what some people say is a good condition motor :)
Here is a list of what I want to do ;)
Mods
Fit 40mm Spax Springs
Fit Lucas Calipers (painted Gun Metal Grey), 266mm discs and pads with Exact Braided hoses with the brake System bled
Fit Magnex to standard MK2 Manifold (build in CAT)
All of the above will be fitted by myself and Sianny's Dad on Saturday/Sunday in July.
Exterior
* VT kit bump stripes painted Satin Black
* Mirror's painted Satin Black
* Sunroof Black stripes painted Satin Black
* VTR alloys shot-blasted and resprayed in a Matt Black Finish
* Chevrons sprayed up in Black along with standard grill painted Satin Black
Try and sort the front drivers door out (is very stiff to close at times, even after it has been lubed up with WD40 etc)
Source front Driver and rear Passenger Arch (both have got a 'bobble' where the clip is for the Arch)
VT rear bumper resprayed (Under rear towing eye paint has flaked off)
Passenger Rear quarter panel resprayed (horrible dent/scratchy thing)
Passenger Door resprayed (laquer has come away, only noticeable when pointed out)
Arches resprayed and then sealed with Waxoyl
12 NEW Wheel Nuts and 4 NEW Locking Wheel Nuts
Toyo Proxies fitted to newly sprayed Alloys
Fogs smoked to go with the rest of the lights
Smoke new Side Repeaters
Citroen AX de-wiper kit (similar to that Pugeot made where it was rock solid)
Respray Wiper arms Satin Black
Source some new Arch Liners for every arch on the car
* Bodywork to be done professionally by KM Design.
VT kit will be replaced with brand new VT kit clips (12p per clip). I've been told the Interior doorcards seem to hold in place better when refitted with VT kit clips, so will no doubt be doing that as well.
Interior
Source some Saxo Desire Doorcards to match the Alcantara on the GTi seats
Black A,B and C pillars from a Pugeot 106
Dials and Dash fitted with LED's in Blue
* Toad AI606 Alarm
New Speakers in front and back (Just for that little bit better sound)
* Alarm to be fitted by our very own Mr Toad
I may enquire about getting the doorcards masked off (the bit where the door pin goes) so then it is all smooth.
Service
The car is need of a full service, this will be done by me, with the help of Luke on the phone and also Sianny's Dad if I get stuck
---------------
When I put it like that, it seems like a damn lot...thats also without Engine mods! LOL
All will be done over the course of the cars ownership :y:
I'm not finished with this little beauty just yet!

08/08/09 - Serviced
Went to Lukes to help him fit his exhaust as well as service my car. We changed the oil and air filter. I had been sent out the wrong oil filter for the VTR, I couldnt get the Fuel filter off, but will get this done one weekend. I will aslo be doing Spark Plugs as well. Car feels better just with the oil change, but will be better once spark plugs, fuel filter and oil filter are done.
No pics.

09/08/09 - Detailed
Decided on Sunday morning the weather was great to finally use the machine polisher I got for my birthday for the 1st time. I didnt get any pics of the process, but below is what I done -
Rinse (jet wash)
Wash with AG Body Shampoo using the 2 bucket method and washmits.
Rinse (couple buckets of Water)
Clay Bar with Megs Clay and Quick Detailer
AG Instant Tar Remover on areas where the Clay wasnt removing the Tar Spots (AG Tar Remover is ACE)
Rinse (couple buckets of Water)
Dry with AG Aqua-Dry towel
Mask the car up with ordinary masking tape (will buy some proper stuff soon)
Menzerna Final Finish polish on a Yellow Pad on speed setting 1, then 5 after the polish had broken down into smaler and smaller particles. Buffed off with Halfords Microfibre (Roof, Bonnet, Wings, Driver side, Passenger side and Boot)
AG HD Wax all round the car, left to cure for around 7-12mins, then buffed off with supplied Hi-Tech Finishing Cloth
AG Bumper Care on the Bump Stripes and Sunroof applied with Megs Applicator Pad
AG Fast Glass on exterior applied with Microfibre
AG Car Glass Polish on Interior applied with same Microfibre as above
Magnex treated with Wire wool on the inside of the Exhaust tip, with Autosol; used to give it a little shine
AG Clean Wheels on the faces of the VTR Alloys.
I also fitted new Bosch Wiper Blades bought from Halfords 2-3 months ago as well as fitting a New Car Smell Bug Airfreshner.
Interior will be getting the full works sometime over the coming weeks. It includes Leathers being fully cleaned with AG Leather Cleaner and AG Leather Care Cream, the Alcantara to be shaved, a full hoover including interior matts, then duster on the interior, as well as the boot being hoovered. Doorcards to be hoovered and emtied of any crap such as receipts etc.
If the weather is good on Saturday, me and Sian will be removing all the wheels and cleaning the arches, as well as the backs of the wheels to get rid of all the brake dust and road crap etc.
Final Note - Anyone who is considering buying wax for their car, buy some AG High Definition Wax. I havent used wax before on a car, and this stuff is very easy to use and is more for the people wanting to protect their paintwork, rather than give a out-n-out shine. It has rained today, and the beading is ALOT better than what it was when I just polished it with AG Super Resin Polish. Highly reccomended :y:
