I think you'll find thats incorrect!

Especially as mine stick out from the arches, and it's just passed its MOT. All I got was an advisory! :A:

Hope not! my car will fail if so.

but the car is nice.

Wheels are foul and ruin the car.

It is if the tread of the tyre pertrudes the line/arch of the car. Hence why stretched tyres came about. ;) But the actual Rim can stick out. :y:

Unfortunately that would fail its MOT.

but this would pass, because the tread of the tyre is tucked up into the arch;

Why would it? The tread of your tyre sits within the arch! The tyre wall can stick out though!

when i took it for pre-m.o.t it could have failed due to the rear wheels being to wide , but i always thought if tread was in arches its legal , as nothing other than the tread touches the surface of the road

Thats correct, there is no law against it - You can't get fined for it and it can't fail an MOT.

But it can be down to the descretion of the MOT tester, deaming it unsafe - But it's not, alot of people on the DUB scene have been pulled etc, or MOT failed - they argued the fact it's not in any laws and they have to Pass them, or let them off.

:cool:

Nice car, lovely wheels.

But i'm afraid its too low for my liking. 10-20mm higher and it would be perfect. It almost looks as if the tyre is touching the arch at the back, and i imagine with any sort of bump in the road it certainly would be.

Thats what airrides for. You drive it at standard height, then at shows slam it to the ground! :P

Usualy thousands, but I think he got these off of a 5stud BMW, welded them over and had them machines to 4 stud fitment.

Then refurbished them, and prolly end up costing him less than half the price. :)
