Bare in mind your nearly 18 and looking for an upgrade from a 1.1i Saxo..
Your 1 year no claims is due in just over a month..
Your a broke college student, earling under a hundred squid a week..
You want something cheap on the insurance and good mpg, and with these you want average / good performance.
What did you have as your second car when you were 18?
Is the above just not going to happen until your older, like 19/20?
Thanks.

What made you change from a VTS?
And how much were you paying TPFT for that?
Cheers for the advice btw!

My second car was a Saxo Furio.
Had it for a year.
swapped it for a Corsa GSi replica
Swapped that for a 106 Quiksilver. killed that
Got the 205 now :)

kept my first car until 19, then got my S. Point being- If you wait a little longer, you can get a car with heaps more go rather than just upgrade a tiny bit due to lack of funds. If I were in your position, I'd hang on to the 1.1, scrounge up some fundage and get a better car later. Of course, if you're dying to get out of the 1.1, then you may well see it differently... Furios are very good balance for fun/affordability imo.

i'm 18 and have a 1.1, i'm going to keep it for a few years, probably end up running it into ground with the amount of miles i do in it, build up a few years no claims and upgrade.

I have a furio that i got when i was 18, much cheaper to insure than a vtr still got a bit of poke in it, and mine is also tarted up a little bit so only the biggest saxo enthusiast can tell its not a vtr from just looking at it.
Its kept me happy for 2 years and now im tryin to get rid for an upgrade lol.

Thanks for all your comments.
I might just stick to the 1.1, it gets me from A - B.
It just doesn't pull out from junctions very well!
Or, I might invest in a Furio.
Any differences between the mk1 and mk2 1.4?
Cheers

Get a 1.4 Westcoast or a 1.4 Furio, depends if you prefer the Mark1 saxo or the Mark2?

Hmm, probally the mk2 tbh, looks more "modern" if you know what I mean?
I have a mk1 atm, they still look nice but quite boy-racer looking, and you know it can't be any newer then 1999..
