crashed my car tonight in weird circumstances...
firstly at macdonalds i felt a clunking noise similair to what i had before i thought to myself... oh no ... not again...
but who gives a fuck as before i had it for months n drove all the time it was ok...
as i left macdonalds i opproached a roundabout fairly fast and went round it kinda flat out... sliding left like some people do (even those who say ''i dont!'')
as i went round it... felt fine and i came off the roundabout turning right sliding again fairly hard and suddenly!! the wheel snapped...! and i was heading for a fence on my left...
turned right as hard as i could and hit the kerb on the left wheel slightly but not hard, just a puncture possibly:n:
the right wheel however was lying on the road next to the car! wtf! and my mate jacked the car up and looked underneath and round the wheel ...
it appears that the ball joint popped out?!

as many of you may know that my car has been regularly been in the garage for various things in the recent few months, i am intially holding them responsible for this! there is no way the wheel should do this on this car or any car for a matter of fact, just imagine it was on the dualc, i wouldnt be alive for one!:wall:

the damage so far as i can see may be two new alloys, two buckled and new tires... new panel on the left side not the door not the bonnet but the side panel front, suspension leg, driveshafts etc etc whole thing maybe or could be very simply replacing what was damaged as alot of it is ok including wishbones, brakes, suspension leg etc etc the AA man said there was about £500 worth of damage luckily i have AA warranty parts+labour cover up to the value of £500, after that i pay the rest so it wont be too bad... but i am in a state of shock how the wheel simply came off as i turned right... fooking deathtrap!

pictures will be up tomorrow...:wall: and i will be looking at all the papers i have regarding the work that has been done to my car recently because im sure its been covered and bodged ... for now...

what a SHIT WEEK for me and to be a SHIT weekend!!!!!!!!!!!

wow mate, that sounds like a lucky escape!

u alright?

Pat_Vts
8th March 2008, 04:46
yeah im alright man and yeah i know it was lucky... just avoided that metal fence by literally say... one metre? or less?... and the damage is not serious, but i am still furious!

i have paid £1400 to fix my saxo in recent months over december and january and it does this now? its ridicilous and the garage are surely responsible but im going to check all the papers in the morning and the car is parked next to a garage, different one! with two tires underneath it at the moment to keep it off the ground

if you look in my post in the boy racers thread, i actually went 130mph on the dualc on thursday night... imagine the wheel came off when i was doing this on a bend?... that would mean i would be in a coffin right now!

what did you get from macdonalds?

also as soon as i hear a clunking sound i dont think fuck it i will leave it for months i get it sorted so that i know everythings fine, how can you hold a garage responsible when its been like that for months?

where did you get your driving licence in a lucky bag??

Yeah it must be the garages fault, nothing to do with the fact that you ignored the "warning" from the car i.e the knocking:wall: , and im sure when the garage did the work they expected you to drive like a tit.

As for the dual carriageway just plain reckless if you want to drive like that get on the track you shouldnt be on the road with that attitude and poor driving style

IMO i hope it takes a really long time to fix it so you are off the roads it might just be safer without :clown: like you on the road

cv joint/driveshaft? i had a similar klonking/grinding noise, i left it for months too, then my mate told me my cv joint/driveshaft was about to seize up due to a split cv boot, this could incur death, so i fixed it the next day .

the clunking noise was a few months ago got it repaired recently for one!... and its come off now! dont have a go at me i only felt it like 5 mintues before the wheel came off!

wont take a long time to fix... one week max the bodyshop thinks but its the cost, might be getting a new car... and im sure youve speeded a little once or so... !

it was empty when i sped... 4am not rush hour therefore i am not a tit because i dont put anyone at risk....
AND i have a liensce because i passed my test!

Any pics?

I could do with a giggle.

You can't expect to tell everyone you drive at 130mph, and then slide it around roundabouts with your foot flat on the floor, and then expect a load of sympathy when you fooking break your car.

You tit - hope you enjoy emptying your bank account.

I have my ball joint snap on me and the wheel just crunched into the wheel arch. This was about two years ago.

There was a thread yesterday taking about racing. Everyone does it, however going 130mph (if possible) is a bit excessive. Then going flat out round a roudabout is asking for trouble. I hope you get it fixed mate and learn from it.

You'll be waiting time mate. I don't drive my car round like I'm Michael Schumacher and then moan when bits fall off...............in fact, I've never driven a car so badly that a wheel falls off....!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

You couldnt have been doing 130 - so might want to get your speedo fixed whilst your at it.

O deary deary me.

If you heard a clunking noise would you not just take the car home taking it easy?

Going flat it isn't going to fix it mate.

Im not going to lecture you, its your life.

But if you know your car had a problem. putting the pedal to the floor is hardly going to fix it.

hope everything gets sorted though.

Admitting to going that fast on a public forum isn't going to get you the response you want mate. Don't get me wrong, I for one speed sometimes, I won't for a second pretend I don't, I'm a youngster who enjoys his car also, but I don't do anything in built-up areas such as close to a MaccyD, nor do I ever feel compelled to slide round roundabouts lol, but by the sound of it your poor VTR sounds like its taken a pounding at your hands and Saxo's are still only small hatches, if unreasonably abused they'll suffer problems, as yours has done.

Hope all gets sorted for you mate, glad you're not injured. And you have a nice enough car lad, don't just shag her, treat her well. Hope you've learnt to calm it a little. :)

Yea your young like me, and I know what you mean when you put the foot down.
