I need to get a power cap, ive been told to look at the 1 - 2 farad caps.

Have any1 got any suggestions on which brand and prices to look for?

what numpty told you to get a power cap? they dont work, if anything they can place extra strain on the charging system. The cap gets charged by the normal charging system, so you drop a large bass note and the cap discharges to allow this bass note to hit its lowest. Then what. The cap is discharged, and here comes the next bass note, so now the battery is trying to recharge the cap AND power the amp to play the next note. And so it continues.

Uprate your cables to at least 4 guage, uprate the alternator to battery positive, teh battery earth and the engine earth and buy a better battery, this will do more than a silly cap will. If your still having problems then go to a second battery and split charging system

you dont need a power cap.
better upgrade the battery, alternator and the wires between and from the battery to amp and HU

well iver got 4 guage wiring in the car, n ive been told that upgrading the alternator is expensive. its just that when i turn my system up the lights dima then the lights go back normal again.
