Firstly, i dont have the oil filter removal tool, so will hand tight be ok when putting the new filter on? And how much to i fill up with new oil by? Halfway between the max and min marks on the dipstick or more?
Secondly, i didnt get the replacement clip with my fuel filter, is there any other way of holding it on if the old one snaps?
Finally, how do i take out/put in new spark plugs on a vts? I'm used to seeing spark leads, and when i take the cover off the 16v it looks like some plastic thing?
Cheers

You have to remove the coil pack (under cover on top of engine) to access the spark plugs! Couple of bolts/torx/star bits hold it in place
Add oil to the min mark, leave a couple of minutes and top up some more!

I always put 3.5 litres in mine, just as it says in the Haynes book. This tends to put it just above max on the dipstick but just on max on the dash gauge.

3.5 litres is what a saxo takes so half way is 1.75 litres, also oil filters are only meant to be donne up hand tight anyway.
You will have to find where the leads are, they may well be under plastic cover on top of the engine (if that's what you mean)

yes hand tight will be ok for the oil filter
id put 3 litres in and then run it for a few minutes then re-check the oil level as the oil has to fill up the oil filter.
the old clap on the fuel filter wil snap, you can get a new clip from citroen
you need to take the coil pack off to get to the spark plugs and then you will need a spark plug socket

you will need to put more than 1.75 litres in. steve if you do this there will be no where near enough oil in the engine

Yeah as said you want atleast 3 litres in before you start the engine, dont worry it wont be overfilled if you've let it drain for about 5-10 mins.
Also you should always do the oil filters up by hand anyway so no worries there. Plugs are easy to do remove the coil and they are staring you in the face :y: As for the fuel filter if you havent got the strap from citroen you can use a cable tie, just put it round the filter then through the metal brake pipes that run next to it :y:

rite fill the oil 3ltrs then run it then check again if you are talkin bout the fuel fitter that on o/s/r at the back then dont waste your money on a new clip a cable tie round the brake lines and fitter does the trick.

i know you need to do that, i personally would have topped it up 3 litres or there abouts like you have said, it was just as he said about half of the oil capacity, didn't rerad post properly.

Iwouldnt run the engine before topping the oil fully, as this pumps it all round the engine, thus giving a false reading on the dipstick.
Put in 3L. Leave it too seettle for 10-20mins, go have a cuppa or whatever, then re-check it and top as nesscesary. :)

^^ once you have put three litres in and you have a look at the dipstick after youve had a cuppa or what ever. then that will be a false reading as the oil filter wont have been "filled".
your better off putting three litres in, run it for a couple of seconds then go for a cupa and then check and top up if needed
