Amp Power Lead

Stupid question tbh but:

Not been able to investigate properly on my car, but I think its got one of those quick release connectors on the positive on the battery. Where do you guys attach the power lead to?

Ben, have you seen in my engine bay?

I've actually attached it to the quick release with a bolt rather than the smaller fuse box. What gauge cable are you looking at running through the car?

With it being bolted to the clamp rather than the fuse box (where it has to go via an 8AWG ish cable first) I've had no problems at all!

ill eventually be getting a battery clamp for mine when i get round to it

same here, Where would you attach a 4AWG cable to then if you had no battery clamp?

really? how many amps are you drawing through that? surely that can't be that good for the bit of random gauge cable that runs in-between?? Saying that, I've seen a few say that its not that good to run any gauge of cable from anywhere but the battery itself.

But in the end, if it works fine without any problems then all is fine :)

2 amps mate, its a bosch battery, heavy duty kind of one so is fine but when this battery goes ill be buying an optima yellow top and i need to get my big 3 sorted out

I've got a supposedly heavy duty battery from halfords in there. It handles surprisingly well. I've got 2 amps running off it as well. I've uprated the earth lead atm, but finding where the hell the lead from the alternator runs is irritating me :( I'm going to do the engine earth at some stage (probably when i do the alternator line)

good good, As i understand it , it runs from the alternator, to the starter motor an then to the positive terminal of the battery? Well that is what the wiring diagram in the Haynes manual shows...
