losing internet connection

my laptop has a usb-based wireless adapter, which initially connects to our orange home hub thingy, but then loses connection after about 2 minutes or so, which is really annoying. have i got it all set-up wrong, or is the adapter knackered?! any help much appreciated! ta

have you got a good enough signal on it? Try moving your router? Whats the usb dongle that youve got? if its a cheap shitty one that might be the problem...

Bet its a belkin??

If it is i have had this problem hundreds of times!! i just return it and get a new one and the problem tends to stop... same with internal belkin cards!!

dongle! thats a new word for me! yeah its a belkin...its a name i'd heard of so thought itd be ok...are they geneally considered to be crap then?! it was like £10 from amazon

Belkin are pretty good when they work, but i have always had little flaws like this when i use them, i currently have a belkin internal card and have had zero problems for 3 years when i got it replaced
