Me and my Mate were talking about what we would do if we ran some one over not purposely but it was our fault?
Me, I would stop, I wouldnt dare drive off, but if I did serious damage to the person I could see it putting me off driving for life
What about everyone else, discuss...

to be honest mate i dont think anyone could give you a answer, i think if the time actually arrose and you did run some one over i think the shock and panic would just take over so you would be in a diffrent state of mind from normal....
if it was me i HOPE i would get out and help but dont want the time to ever happen because dont think i would be able to drive again ......

i would stop and help them as much as i could. I could drive again because at the end of the day it's an accident

Think it all depends on what happened. If I fucked up and did something stupid and caused an accident I don't know if I could drive again. But if it was something like someone stepped out infront of me without looking etc I know I wouldn't be fully to blame and so it might be easier to get behind the wheel again... as said previously though, you don't know until it happens!

depends on the situation really...

I'd like to think I'd stop and help but things happen differently at the time. As said I think it would depend on the situation.

Some people panic and keep driving
ID STOP!! as the feeling of some1 else running down some1 in my family and driving off would be devastating.
So id stop regardless the matter! you should never leave a scene of an accident because more questions will be asked of you when your eventually caught.
Someone's life is worth more then a a few points/ban/fine your recieve if you had been displaying dangerous driving.
Just think if some1 knocked/ran you over and left you there in pain, yourd be utterly pissed just like if some did that to a family member.

lol no, thats the outcome you'd expect.
Your fucked when you hear on the news the victim of a near fatal hit and run is making a recovery after being hit by a car on thursday night. Miraculously no perminent damage was done and a full recovery is expected. The victim describes the car as a black VTS, lowered with a private reg plate ending in VNS, a you dark haired caucasian male was driving on the A8 in Edinburgh. A £500,000 reward has been offered by the young boys parents to whom ever can identify the driver of the saxo. Be on the lookout :n:

i have run someone down, was not my fault though. i was about 22/23 at the time and had an ax gt, dropped a mate off at his house about midnight. pulled out from a junction and got to about 25 mph when a pissed up squaddie runs out in front of me, i hit him straight on and he flies over my bonnet and roof landing on the floor behind me. stopped straight away and got out and called the emergency services. within 5 mins an abulance and a couple of police cars arrive and do their thing. i was breathalised and passed as i was drinking water and soft drinks. needless to say the damage to my car was bad and i was shocked for a few days after. took about a month before i got to drive again.

id stop in this situation.
me and my mates though were talking about if you were driving through the woods and someone was waving you to stop, wether you would or not youd stop. you wouldnt know if they were actually murderers or anything. and in that situation i think id drive on.

I'd stay and call police/ambulance.
Like someone said though, its what happens when it happens.... instant reaction might be totally different for some people. Its called "Fight or Flight Response" which is basically saying you will either stay and deal with it (fight) or leg it (flight).

think id probably drive on really fast but id feel so guilty just incase it was somethin serious. i would feel so bad if i heard on the news later that someone had been murdered in the woods or that a car went off the road and the people in it died. i think it would probably depend what they looked like.

Think it would knocj my confidence a bit!
My mum hit a wee boy who ran out from between parked cars and she couldn't even get back in the car, the police drove her car home for her. It took her a while to drive again.
