All this recent talk of the MG factory closing down, meant that reporters visited the show room, and in the background of one such reprt, was the above mentionned MG SV-R. so.......YES I'M STILL ON HALF TERM!!!!!....i went searching and this is what i came up with!!!

HOW SEXY

THE GOOD SHIT
Awaken the XPower V8. It's a muted rumble, but a deep and eloquent one.
Speaking of massive reserves of power just a flex of the ankle away. Quad camshafts, 4.6 litres, all-aluminium construction. Flexible torque meets breathtaking top-end power. Only one thing can hold it back - the eye-popping Brembo brakes.

And now the high performance SV-R is available, giving a significant increase in power output from the 320hp </font> of the SV to 385hp</font>in the SV-R. The extra performance of the SV-R comes from a 5.0 litre XPower version of the 32 valve V8 engine, built in conjunction with V8 tuning specialist Sean Hyland. The car accelerates from standstill to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds and top speed is in excess of 175 mph (284 km/h).

THE ALL IMORTANT MONEY BIT!!!
The MG XPower SV can be yours for around, £65,750</font> while the SV-R starts at £82,950, </font>a real bargain if you want to own what will undoubtedly be a piece of motoring history.

Only 240 of these supercars will be built each year, every one of them handfinished to its owner's specifications. Once 840 are made, the mould will be broken. It is as limited a limited edition as you can find in the motoring world.

For more details please contact one of our specialist dealers, who will be pleased to talk you through purchasing the SV.

Just don't forget your cheque book!

GOD DAMN, the only thing, as the gfriend says, is that if in a years time you come to claim on the warranty, you might be a leeeeetle bit screwed!!!

Oz - you should come to a touring car meet. they have one sat there on the MG stand (if there's one this year !). The car gets started up every now & again - sounds sooooo nice from the back. smileys/smiley4.gif

i put thia up as one of my dream cars a while ago (in "Stars & their cars" thread). I've never seen one on the road tho, would get plenty of looks. smileys/smiley16.gif

this sounds bad but if i was to spend 80k on a car, it most certainly would not be an MG. i mean think of all the other cars that are IMO nicer and better for well less. Evo 8, Porsche 911, bmw M3/5(dunno how much an m5 costs but cant imagine it being more than that MG.

Apparently they are supposed to able to tune that car to 1000bhp if you've got enough money!

not bad tuning possibilities if what you said is right! but for 80k id want more power than 385 bhp!!
