On my way home and pulled upto a petrol station outside of town, looked behind me and I see a volvo traffic police pull up beside me.
Shit myself, anyway, tell's me my plates are illegal, and fines me £30 on the spot.

lol u dont give them the 30 quid then and there, they give u a fixed penalty notice and you have 28 days to pay i belive. if not it goes to court, u can contest these though :) i think neway not 100% lol not started learning it yet

pictures of the plates? he take photos of your plates or video footage? swap them to standard and appeal his word againts yours :geek:

They were French pressed plates, I have a number to ring to pay the fine within 28 days, He took a photo of the car with the plates on and said if the car is seen with them on after 14 days will be de-registered by the dsa.

i may be wrong but i think my driving instructor of all people was telling me that if you have your spare standard plates and can change them there and then nothing can be done. will check with him for definite tho ( he drives about in his m3 with black and silver pressed plates with his spares in the boot )
