phoned around today to get quotes to get work done on the VTR
1)Powerflow cat back system = £220
2)Piper fast road cam = £216
3)Cam belt (may as well be done at the same time) = £20
4)Cam and camBelt fitting =£100
5) remap/superchip = £270
Total= £826
Minus £60 for the backkbox my mate said he would bye off me = 766
worth it or not?
If anyone knows where i can get cheaper cam etc let me know :y:

cam price looks good to me, but would probably want a remap with it.

Thats it mate i can't decide to do this to my VTR or Get a VTS and have the work done.
I can't decide because i quite like the idea of having a VTR which could beat a VTS.
What you think?

How much is the engine transplant costing you?
isn't it cheaper to get a VTS rather than pay for an engine transplant?

get a vts dropped in, can have a nice low milage engine with few mods for that sorta money, and future modding potential

yours is is a phase 1 saxo thought the phase 2's with the 98bhp engine cost more becasue the cat in on the manifold so therefor the center section has to be longer

it be easier to drop a VTS lump in tbh
if you insure a VTR with all them mods declard...your looking at VTS standard engine prices anyway.....VTS would be easy to mod in the future rather than the 8v VTR lump

Real men drive 8v.
Dont forget it. Mod the VTR - EVERYONE drops a 16v lump. Why not havent something thats 8v and could smoked any standard VTS/GTi?
You know what to do.

Keep the vtr engine do the mods.
8v tuning ftw :P
also save labour costs from fitting the vts and put it toward a good suspension set up and brakes ;)

i admire people who be different and Mod the 8v engines....instead of being a sheep and following suit like alot of people....no disrespect to them, would just like to see a bit of a change from the norm around here lol
Pat_Vts

those real men who ''mod'' their 8v engines have to pay alot to keep up with VTS... or maybe beat one slightly... whereas VTS with simple breathing mods will pull away from a modded 8v so... i think the VTS lump is easier... it just depends on how you do it and how much you pay and the mileage, if you get a low mileage one, straight fit, cheap, know someone or fix it yourself on the cheap it is always the 16v that is going to be the winner...

All this fuss about 8v. Come on guys a 16V engine is a lot better, i would rather have a 16V engine with all those mods. Absolutely nothing to do with following the sheep, it's just better. Infact, aren't you being a bit of a sheep follower going by your sig morgan?
I'd buy a VTS and do the mods to that mate. But whatever you want to do go for it!

Depends on which one you go to, I would always stay well away from powerflow.
Also go for a standard ecu remap as superchips are rubbish.
Get a decent exhaust like magnex, scorpion etc.
