Hi everyone, here's my vtr i bought it a couple of weeks ago. I am only 16 but i couldnt let it go i have been wanting one of these since i was little.
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg12/josh250391/DSC00250.jpg
This was the day i bought it and got it home. There is a couple of dints and now alloys etc but there only minor problems. I got it for £1300 which i thought was a good price but its got 80000 miles on the clock.

This is how it is today. I have put the standard alloys back on and give it a little clean.
What do you think?
Any suggestions what to do with it in the near future would be helpful. Thanks :y:

very nice first car !!!
dirt cheap too.
suggestions are to get some standard mirrors and lower about 50mm, then leave, otherwise insurance will rape you. and it looks good like that.

if your near wakefield? you could go to rickyp-rpm or manic motors (im not from up north, so dont know area's well)
they will do it for around 100 quid i think.
depends what insuance company, some it doesnt put it up some it puts it up upto 50 quid say.
only upped mine 15 quid.

yeah thats how i did mine, was worried i was goin to mess up the spray painting bit but its easy u just gotta be patient with it and let it dry. i did have silver mesh behind it before i bought my alloys but thought i would have a change and it looked better with black mesh and white chevrons.

Wat does cat c or d mean?
I'm not sure what the difference of the two is.
Most people are not bothered by Cat C's or D's but it all depends on whether you can find out what sort of damage.
For example my Saxo has had slight front side damage and it made very little damage and didn't set the airbag off. That's as far as I would go.
Also If it is a really good repair. Like a mate of my uncle and he says mine is a really good repair so when I ever come to sell mine I'd tell them it's been in a crash but It wasn't structural and was a good repair.
I say yours could be C or D when you look at your front right wing. The join seems to far too out of place.

Why £350?
In about 1995 we used to have a 205 1.4XSI and my dad thought it would be good to colour code the bumpers to make it look more like a GTI. So my dad sanded down the bumpers, used some White spirit, applied a base coat then colour of paint and protection. Took a full day.
Why couldn't you just do that with a Saxo?

i know wat u mean now. i know the right wing is abit messed up so i am gunna get another one. plus the wheel arch is loose so will need to be tightened. Isnt anything bad or i would have known about it from the seller. it was a 4x4 tht reversed into the right wing. I will get it sorted soon enough dont worry:y: Cheers for the info by the way

As everyone has said, get it lowered before anything, Take into account what you'll wanna do in the future though, if you plan on huge wheels, dropping it loads isn't wise or if you plan on using it as a taxi but if you want a 2 seater car then yeah, 60mm, maybe get buckets or some leather 106 GTI seats? most insurance companies don't need to be told about the inside so a nice leather interior would be good?
Josh250391
18th March 2008, 23:13
Thanks pal. i will be lowering it bout 40 or 50. Thts wat am gunna do there are just a couple of dents n tht wat need sorting then thts it for the outside thn its all going into the interior and some nice ice:y:

interior is standard will prob be staying that way aswell because i am buying a house so wont have the money. i would like a gti interior.

i know some people on here have done it them selfs but i didnt really want to risk it and plus i havent got a gararge to do it in so thought i would be safe and pay someone to do it for me lol
