VTS will literally cost you twice as much to insure than the VTR..
As VTS is grp14 and VTR is grp7

VTS has 120bhp, VTR 90/98bhp dependent on year.
VTS has ABS, pass airbag, rear headrests and elec mirrors and VTR doesnt..
VTS has an extra 8v over the VTR's 8v engine.

That is a good price for insurance on a VTS, i will also be another saxo after i hit 21 this september, but im still not sure whether to get a VTR or VTS. I owned a VTR previously which was written off this december gone.

I was very happy with the VTR, but i would really like a VTS next. But i really cant decide, obviously the VTS will be more expensive, but i dont see the point in buying a VTR and tuning it when i could have got a VTS standard with same performance.

I will have been driving for 3 years by then, and do have a claim now from the crash on my licence, have no no- claims bonuses as 1st two years were insured under my moms name. The crash was under my own name. I think that i will be insured under my moms name again, but i was wondering if you guys have any advice..

Gav
13th April 2005, 02:04
do a quote on the autotrader web site. u get a quote from loadsa insurance company's at the same time. might get it cheper depends on ya post code. i live out in the sticks of the north east hehe.

Dan
13th April 2005, 02:06
well a few lads from the north east on here now! good to see! im in middlesbrough! but the nice part! still get fcuked on insurance cos of it tho!

nick_vts
13th April 2005, 02:06
I dont understand how you got quoted 1053 if i got that...it doesnt add up. Tho my friend who i bought the car off was paying near £1500, he was astonished when i got £800. Surely one year no claims cant make that much difference...how long have you been driving for?

Gav
13th April 2005, 02:09
it goes on ya post code m8 if there is a lot of crime in your area like cars getting nicked then u have a high risk post code.

Gav
13th April 2005, 02:10
big up to the lads in the north east. smileys/smiley17.gif

Dan, Nick,
I'm in the same boat as Dan as I'm 22 with 3ncb and Q/D quoted me £808.30 for my VTS fully comp with no mods. I'm currently with Tesco, which is £1100 fully comp with mods, but without mods i think it's about £900 - so not too much difference maybe worth considering Q/D when I renew smileys/smiley14.gif

Neil_Saxo
13th April 2005, 19:50
got quoted £840 fully comp on a vts. smileys/smiley4.gifim only 21 and i will have 2 years no claims soon. pretty good really. but ma vtr is only about 650 with elephant at the mo. (only 10 months tho) so about 750 ish really.
