im gonna spray ma rocker cover on ma vtr. could i just use normal spray paint? i know about the primer etc. but all i want to know is it ok to use the normal spray cans? it won`t crack or that will it? cheers

normal paint should be fine mate, thats all ive used and what most other people use, primer as usual, 2 coats best, rub down, then apply your colour and rub down between coats on these leaving with a smooth surface, do roughly 2-3 coats, then lacquer it, i would do at least 2 coats to protect the paint and make it stronger, i used 2 coats of normal lacquer then 2 coats of alloy wheel lacquer and came out ok. the more coats of lacquer you use the shinier it will become:y:

i used some high temp engine laquer from halfrauds it was about a fiver here's a link for you http://www.motortraders.com/xcart/catalog/product_16588_Hycote_Engine_Lacquer_400ml.html

If it were me i would use hammerite paint to be on the safe side too :y:

well its gold the now. but not a gold thats the same as the car. i bought spray paint the same as the car, to do a wee bit on the dash and ive loads left. so i thought i would spray the rocker cover to match the body work

would look quite nice if you did other parts of the engine aswell :y:

Cambelt Cover

all them are a possibility :y:
