my sub sounds poo!

hey

ive got a 15" sub with a 1000w amp. it sounds great inside the car but from the outside it sounds like my car is a baked bean tin. just shakes the car and no bass tone escapes at all! i have played about with the amp and the bass output lever on the headunit but still sounds crap! is it just saxos or what? cos its very bassey inside! ear bleed job

Believe it or not mate, its a good thing for it to be quiet outside the car!

The quieter the better, cus it means less sound is escaping from inside, which is where the sound matters!

You make it sound like you want it to be loud outside??

imho if you want to show it off park up in a car park and open the boot...

if you want people outside to hear whilst your driving along its like waving a red flag and shouting 'IV GOT A LOUD SUB COME ROB ME'

Sounds like you might need dynomat or second skin sound deadening. It wont allow the music to be heard better outside the car but it will stop it rattling and probably give you more clarity inside the car.

yeah saxos rattle to buggery with a sub as they are all plastic. best bet to line it all with dynamat

err think its a jbl sub i dunno what watt it is its a 1000w amp. as i say inside it will make ur ears bleed, can feel my hair vibrating to the sound but outside its shite

my boot lid rattles so much and the door cards, gonna get some sound proofing and loft insulation to sort all that out though and some new door clips.

I find it embarressing if pople ou of the car can hear the music, i always turn it down LOADS when in a traffic jam or in town, or i just feel like an idiot.

All about the sound quality though not how far away u can hear it.

so your just wanting it to sound loud outside the car, trust me thats not a good thing, you pay for the speakers its for your ears only tbh, and the worst thing is your just letting little pikeys know that you have a sub and amp in your car

i was like this a long time ago and payed the price when my car got broke into

so keep sound in the car and sound deaden as much of the car as you can :y:
