When i let the car idle when it's hot... say at traffic lights.. the revs sometimes drop so low it sounds as if the car is off. The only way to keep it going is to give it a few revs. It only happens when it's hot tho :err:

Anyone know what the problem might be?

Just a quick BUMP before i go to work. I really need to know what might be causing it. It can be quite scary when you have to keep the revs going and brake at the same time!!!

So stem, did you change the coilpack in the end?

After a full diagnositcs it showed nothing wrong with the thing, they rang it for 30 minutes and left it running for a further 20 minutes for the engien to get warm 1st.
Im completely rubbish when it comes to the mechanics of the car so im having to rely on a garage, who i trust as much as you can trust!
They told me to use as normal and if it happens again and im in the area to rush it straight back there.
Ive driven to work today and all seems ok, touchwood.
Maybe the increase in revs running idle for a minute or 2 was something to do with the new cambelt and water pump i had fitted?

Its been suggested to me that the MAP sensor could need changing.
Could be worth checking this out

That's what i have read also. So they did nothing and it seems ok? How strange, mine is going into the garage on Tuesday to get read will have to take itr for a run before hand and tell them to get it warm before it cuts out. Think MAP sensor will be the first thing i'll change if it shows up nothing wrong.

Looking on the internet the MAP sensor is around £300,expensive.
Im going to try changing the coolant sensor 1st on Tuesday (£12 from Citroen dealer) to see if that solves the problem. Fact it mainly happens when the car is hot hoping thats it.

Change The Coolant Temp Sensor That Solved It On My Car, Also You Would Be Amazed How Many Things Dont Show Up On A Diagnostic Check.
