hi, i have a 98 saxo vts and its had everything done to it to fix a problem but the f****r won't work properly. when i'm drivin, it'll start spluttering and then cut out. fuel pump was changed...still does it. had all the fluids changed, head gasket done, new radiator, new exhaust, new plugs.

took it to citroen and the diagnostics couldnt find anythin wrong. anyone got any ideas?

i've been told lambda sensor, temp sensor but want it confirmed.

if anyone helps i'll send ya a kitkat or a crunchie or summat :)

also, it idles a bit crazy. at traffic lights it'll rev to about 4000 then down to stalling then back upto 3-4000 revs. CRAZY!!! anyone wanna buy it? :)

Could be a host of things Jax. I'm suprised a dealership couldn't tell, it's their job to find out these things.

Have you tried a new coil pack?

I could make a long list of possible causes, such as coolant temperature sensor, IACv, ECU malfunction, wiring loom malfunction / electrical issue, TPS, MAP...

My mk1 VTS has just come back from the garage today with the same problems.
However the high idle revs only started after having a new cambelt and water pump fitted 2 days ago?
But i worked out mine generally dies after ive been up a hill (multistory etc), or stopped on a slope at lights etc. Each time ive been just getting close to low grey area on the fuel, could this be something to do with it - fuel not getting to the engine?

could be the stepper motor/idle controll valve

Common fault by all accounts. More than likely your ICV or coil pack.

Have you changed the water temp sensor?

Failing that, does it stutter when accelerating? If so I had a faulty ECU that caused several similar problems.
