1.6 GLX.
Any good? Anyone owned one / driven one?
I am thinking of upgrading from my 1.1 Saxo to one of these, as cheap to insure.
Thanks.

Well i found a cheap 306 on auto trader..
Churchill quoted me a good price on it too.
I just want a nippy, practical car. They seem to be hard to find!

...mate has one and ive driven it round the block been out in it a few times apart from its a 1.4 remember its a french car same problems as a saxo really but they seem to be better made i feel more safer in one its just small touches like the door cards are bigger and stronger bigger seats only thing that lets it down is the dash looks abit dated compared to a sax has lots of storage overall tis a good car !

Cheers for your comments.
I can't seem to find any exact 0-60mph times or anything.
I think the GLX must be quite a "rare" version?

if i ever got a 306 it would be the D-Turbo one or the newer HDI one.

Is the 1.6i 306 about the same performance as the VTR?
Or is that a stupid question.

The 1.6 prob won't touch the vtr due to weight. Same reason there isn't huge amounts of difference between the gti-6 and vts untill higher speeds.

Found one with 75k for £995.
1 lady owner from new, FSH, air-con, alloys and all the goodies.
Mind you it is a P reg, which I think is 1997.
Oh, and its metallic light blue.
Good?
