Thanks for the replies... even to the anti-Jap squad lol, I know it won't be too everyone's taste being Jap and all, but yeah it's a minter, very quick, takes alot of getting used to. Miss my Saxo, but she's gone to a certain established dude on here, so I know she'll be taken care of...;)

Haha, why, because it's a 4 door? It's like a small town in there, very spacious.

Errm... I was getting bummed on the VTS, (I've only just turned 20!) so its a fair whack but this is actually less to insure than a Civic Type-R, which I was also considering. Much prefer the accord to the civic anyway, having driven both.
Im lovin the car, but not feelin the rimzzzz
Standard 17 inch Honda rims, although as it's a mondeo-sized beast they don't look particularly big. Ride is surprisingly good given the track-biased set-up.

Love yours in black mate, my red is a piss-take to keep clean. Worth the trouble though ;)
The quality and overall feel of steering, gearchange, brakes etc, just feels so solid. Do miss the chuckability of the VTS, with this you have to think twice before giving it some... but it's all good. Once the revs hit around 5800rpm... awayyyy you go. Even below that is quite good tbh, 162lb ft torque which is fine, thats a fair whack more than the Civic Type-R's 144 ft lb. For anyone who wants to see these things shift, here's a link. Not mine though, but same thing.

And they do shift ! ! !
Don't be afraid of the barge ! It handles better than my VTS ever did.
Remember the LSD is there to help you out :y: Keep it planted and
it will drag you through the corner, with you kept nicely in place by the
Recaro seats.....
Oh yer and the noise when it hits VTEC at 5800rpm is mental !

Rhys- you're absolutly right, the handling on this is UNREAL for it's size, I'd rate it well beyond my old VTS, just that I need to get used to the idea of driving a large saloon that is actually more nimble than many hot-hatches... That LSD is something else, allows you to be a bit naughtier around hairpins and roundabouts than you should be;).
AlexR- ya little Jap-hater, have a drive of one and then make your mind up;)
AlexR
24th March 2008, 21:38
183bhp revving to 8.5k in a stripped vtr will do for me ta, and my big german barge with 230lb/ft@1900rpm for driving to work, got the best of both worlds in two cars. I hate the styling on jap cars, and they are just generally boring, a car that doesn't have niggles is characterless. Jap cars lack character. All IMO. Your car, your money :)

Errm... yeah thanks for the constructive comments mate, thats the second time you've said that on my thread without giving any sort of intelligent reasons. At least Alex gave some fair points about why he thinks that. And tbh lad, you bad-mouthing that my new car is crap is a little rich since you're driving an automotive mango which is just as breakable as one tbh.
You'd best hurry along now lad and put your car in the garage, I hear the weather is cold, you don't want any rust now do on your little bucket now, do you.
Provocative Twat tbh...

I don't actually have a problem with the car at all. infact i really like them. and i think you've got it in the best colour, providing it stays clean.
Nevermind.

Aite no worries mate, I guess I just read too much into it thats all. Just sounded like you were taking the piss for the sake of it, I've put every last penny into this Type-R and have only had it one day, sorry if I'm a bit tightly strung atm.
Take what I said about your 205 back, I was a little pissed, you've done quite a good job on it actually.
All forgotten.:y:

Rofl. no worries dude.
If you see the shit i give Rhys you'd understand :P
Although id personally never buy an Accord i think it's a fine example of a car.
Does it not feel a bit on the big side? going from a Saxo to that much be a hell of a change.

Oh right... jokes on me then;) Lol, i've never really got touchy over anything before on this forum, wierd:wacko:
Yeah it's very big, my dad has an Octavia vRS which I used to think was quite big, but the Accord is bigger still. Reverse parking will never be the same... especially with that big spoiler running across the rear window.

yeah mate he sounds a bit , just some little trouble-maker.
Yeah it weighs a fair bit more than the Saxo, but still 1360-ish kilos isn't all that much, it's rival Mondeo ST220 weighs in at over 1500 lol. Still love my French hot hatches, every time I see a VTS I remember the good times.. :)

There really are some knobs out there !
And as for the gear ratios, yes they are short but it just adds to the rapid
acceleration :panic:
