I rang my local Shitroen garage end of last week, cos my car is due for a full service. The garage manager quoted me £130 for oil and filter change and then a check of the brake lines.....I thought "WTF?"

I had told him I didnt need a new air filter cos its K&N and is cleanable.

However, he didnt even mention spark plugs...!

And how is it a full service?

Anyone know exactly what a Full Service (a proper one) involves? I'll be doing most or all of it myself, and I'm pretty sure it involves more than oil and filter and a quick look at the brake lines.

Any help repped.......

the pug and cit dealers only change the plugs on a service if you pay extra and request they do.

Have you not thought about servicing it yourself? It's not all that difficult and works out a damn sight cheaper!

Yeah, I will be doing most if not all of it. Bloody ripoff garages!

if you do 6 month services you dont need to replace it all, all the time etc

oil and filter is obvious

check plugs for condition

etc etc

you dont have to do oil and fitler and cam belt at same time either

its up to the owner to do..

many people regard a service as a oil and filter change and usualyl a air filter and thats it

not many people actually replace the fuel filter and plugs everytime since theirs no need to

antifreeze every 2 years
