i can`t remember the sizes. but it was bigger than my boot. then i took my carpet out , placed it over the wood. and cut it to the size off the carpet

I did exactly the same. They had loads of different sizes when i bought mine. Did you try asking if they had/could get in bigger sizes?

i went homebase, b and q and another place they all said i would have to buy a massive bit and cut it down. and i really dont want to spend 30 pound on wood.

steal some wood from the building site lol. if i remember right is was something like 20-30quid i payed for mines. cause i bought 1 for the base / 1 for the false floor and a couple other bits off wood for the sides/middle to keep the floor up, so it didn`t collapes. and the carpet material for the floor

at B&Q its only like £10-15 pounds for a 8x4(foot) sheet. if your making a sub box aswell then you will have enough to do both with 8x4 sheet:y: well it did anyway :P

you should be able to get a sheet from b+q for no more than 16 quid (18 mm) and then get them to cut it down for you. you should get at least 2 full boot sizes from 1 sheet.

no point really mate because they only do straight cuts so youll need to cut it anyway and some b&qs charge for cutting it aswell and if you only want it cut to size for one floor they still charge you for a full sheet:homme: . but if you can be bothered then you could cut 2 floors (carpet both of them if you want) and sell one on ebay might make some ££££'s thats what i would do anyway :p but its up to you mate

pal, i work in the building trade, my advice is that you go to a proper timber firm.
b&q are very pricey. Plus a timber firm will charge you for what you take.
thy might have a bit of board lying about that they will do cheap ;)

hope this helps

mate im a joiner and b&q actually have not bad prices for mdf and sheet wood but ill admit that most of the other stuff is a rip off. you might save a few £s going somewhere else but if theres not a timber firm as close as the b&q youll spend more money on fuel so would probably work out the same

B&Q too, they also offer a cutting sevice, so what i would do is take your boot carpet in with you and tell them to draw round that on the mdf and leave about 20mm more just incase, will save you doing it :y:

I work for a kitchen manufacturer so got the mdf for free :D

Timber strips to support false floor came for Buildbase, something stupid like 15p each

i made mine from a few bits of wood
its in 3 peices so i can easily take it out to get at the spare wheel hanger
but ive got a twin sub box so it has less space at the sides to fill

Dont worry about not being able to find one piece at the right size.. Get a couple of smaller pieces, and join them together with batterns from underneath.. The false floor is going to have to be raised, you need somewhere to hide your wiring.. and once its complete and all one piece your going to cover it in carpet/faux leather so you wont see any joins..

Dont use B&Q rip off!! Go to local timber merchants or someone like Travis Perkins instead thats decided building supplies and it'll be half the price of B&Q..

Good Luck!

Cheers
