i have a 250 watt max power amp that used to power my 400watt 6x9 ive put the 6x9 in the bin and am wondering if conecting the amp to my 150 watt peak power will do will it knacker them because of to much power or can i wire them up

Please quote the RMS ratings of your speakers/ amp (and model numbers is possible) Max power ratings mean naff all TBH.

what are you wiring the amp up to??? you said you put the 6x9s in thbin (good man)???
and yes RMS figures are needed :y:

there kenwoods 13cm door speakers carnt find anything about rms on the speaker box on the amp box says 50w x 2 rms and 70w x 2 rms

you probablies could power hem but the speakers only put out 28 rms lol
you would have to leave the gain on the amp to about less than half way, tbh if i wa you id get rid of them speakers and but some components :y:

coaxials are all in one, ie tweeter and mid, tbh there not that good imo
components consist of a seperate set up ie seperate tweeter and mid and they use a crossover to put out different frequencis to the mid and tweeter, they will sound a load better tust me :y:

Its the crossover mate.
All component speakers have them.
Basically it send the bass to the woofer and the highs to the tweeters.
They are adjustable as well, so you can set it how you like.:y:
