Hey, I just went into my local car shop Interpart and had a look around.
As I'm in need for some new break disks and pads I got them to give me a price on 4 EBC Break Disks and 4 Green stuff pads, they quoted me £248.
Do you think that sounds reasonable?
Thanks

I would reccomend the gti-6 brakes, but not from VTS_Pj, he's a horrible man, lmao! Kidding, seen that setup and its in great nick :)
Failing that, EBC is awesome kit :)

I heard they were pretty good, but I've never used them so I can't comment.
Why do I need 306 GTI breaks? ;)

Dunno, i think there great, used them time after time on my MR2 and i loved them, but each person has there own driving style and the green stuff pads tend to be a bit "legless" when stoney cold. Few corners later there good, and i never experienced fade. Ever.

well the extra speed from the turbo etc will require better braking due to mine being 289mm with green stuff pads and mintex discs you will stop just as fast :y:

Greater piston area, larger diameter disks, i have a gti6 running standard pads and standard rotors and there god damn awesome for a stock setup.

I need front and rears. :(

29th March 2008, 17:47
Use standard Rears :)
With standard disks, but you must use the same make and model of pad on both the back and front of the car.

29th March 2008, 17:49
I don't have any standard ones. All my disks were completely worn! :(

sounds awful i hate ebc :panic:
go to your local gsf
brembo max discs which are grooved dont get drilled they crack. about 30 a disc each corner
and ferrodo compo pads or magnex pads about 40 a end cheap as chips again
so in total whole car done for 200 :afro:
then order some goodridge s/s hoses for mmm think my bmw was 45 so a saxo would probly be about 30/5
fuck ebc :boxing:

well we've done 8000 miles with ebc on the car (varied driving styles me and the wife both drive the sax) and the front havent been changed once the pads are still over half
the rears have been changed twice in that time cause one of the callipers was binding on (at one point it was glowing in the dark) since ive fixed it no probs - got ferrodo pads on the rear cause we needed good rear pads for an MOT no where stoks them locally otherwise ebc would and will be back on the car !!!!

had EBC greens on front, rubbish! , found this out when i replaced them with plain Mintex pads, and the stopping power was better, not much, but rather have the better action then dust free wheels.....

I have the EBC Turbo grooved and vented discs and green stuff pads on my ZR and they are better than standard, but not that good IMHO and i will be changing soon.
Reason being is i hammer my zr and under heavy breaking there giv off ALOT of noise and seem to fade of where i need to let off the brakes and then apply them very firmly again!
Like i said they are better than standard but you could do better still!
IMO you would be better off saving up a little more and getin a GTI-6 conversion or gettin some Hi-Spec 4pots for up front and some drilled/grooved discs for the back and better pads :y:
