Fair enough using it on your bump strips... but id never put it in with the shampoo when washing the car... im sure there are other far more effective ways of getting a good end result...

Predator_R32
30th March 2008, 23:11

Predator_R32
30th March 2008, 23:49

My mate put some sort of grease on his windscreen, and when we was on the motorway and the rain was lashing it down (typical blackpool weather) the rain was just running straight of, he had his wipers on 1, instead of the usual 5 for that kind of rain, it was actually ace, and seperated the water basically and could see alot better

what benefit does baby oil actually have apart from lubing your car up????
be good as a burglar deterrent though wouldnt it if you used enough? lol. they would just slip when they touch the car :P

As said, It helps the water to run off the car... aiding with the drying process. Pretty much the same idea as spraying the car with Quick Detailer before drying :y:
Never tried it myself mind you so would be interesting to see how much it would help.

Il post the results of using this in a wash either tommorow or wed when mine is back from the bodyshop ;)
Bumpstrips and trims definately come up a treat using baby oil and oither products like that...Windscreen i stick to RainX or Permaclear like pred but this would work in pretty much the same way :y:

Guys....I tried it today. Makes beading better on the car and water runs off well.
BUT
Unless you like oil marks all over your drive and like clearing it up after you've washed your car then don't do it. Water does not go well with oil, I was looking at the drive thinking hmmm....where's that come from? Then it twigged, its the oil in the baby oil :wall::wall:. I only put 1/2 a cap in aswell. So nah...don't bother ;) well....unless you like to spend your time clearing up oil marks.
