got a bit bored today so went to a scrappy and got another mk2 grill as mine was grey and faded. Decided i wanted it satin black to go with the rear badges and wheel when they are eventually done. ANyway primed it first with holts plastic primer (just looks shinny imo)

about three coats later while it was tacky i did my first blow over with holts satin black dupli colour

paint took well considering it was a first coat, i wasnt even that heavy handed  Anyway around three coats later i was getting impatient so out came my sisters hairdryer to speed things up

one more coat and i now have this

jus fitted the grill but decided to add a bit of a twist to it. I got some red pinstriping from kevin cooper and decided to surround the chevrons with it. It came out ok but still needs to be heated and shrunk a little so bear it in mind when looking at the pics. Its nearly there though :y:
