smoked head light question

right i want to do my main set now, but as i tryed first time i came across a problem i think. before i took it apart im sure that the main headlight surround ( part you dont paint ) was solid but when i took the bit to paint out it become floppy and wouldnt stay up right, i was wondering when you put them back on the car do they some how click back into place or are you left with them facing down all the time?

There is a plastic clip in the back of that unit which has gone floppy which should pop into the adjuster unit in the back of the light.

If you've somehow managed to break this bit then you might be snookered. it may just have come out of place and be easy enough to pop back in

hmmm it was only a spare one , would the unit be on the light of the loom which would stay in the car once the light is out?
