Right, Ive always used the German Pads from Polished Bliss as they were recommened
to me. But tbh I found after using them a couple of times the edges began
to crumble. So Im not too happy with ordering a new set:

They were stored correctly too.

Now I ordered some new bits for my mates car, and I got him one of those
ClearKote applicator pads:

They look a much better material for apply wax's and stuff. Im yet to order one
for myself but anyone used them?

I have ones similar to this, and they are great for applying wax, especially soft wax :y:

Due to them being MF they are easy on the paint, but the downside is that I find after a few applications they get a bit clogged up. Nothing a good rinse can't sort out though.

i prefer to use the sonus blue mf pads for liquid wax's/sealents etc and the megs foam or the german one for solid waxes

The Meg foam ones and the German pad ones are worse with the solid waxes imo! See
I never had issues with them with the liquid waxes but when I got that new Blackfire
Wax thats when the crumbling began.

Cheers tho guys! Do perfer the feel of the ClearKote ones I got my mate. He was the test
subject lol.

I use ClearKote or Sonus and have only good things to say about them man :y:

A few foam applicator and german pads are always fine for liquid-based polishes/sealants and waxes but i wouldnt let them touch any hard waxes as they deteriorate quickly and cant just be washed like MF can...

megs foam ones suck imo, they wont last as long as microfibre ones, as you can machine wash them

Not hard wax dude as it sucks by hand/is near impossible

I use my UDM set at lower speeds and work it in...
Some softer waxes work well when applied by hand and then buffed off but you need MF towels/cloths to do a proper job tbh bud and get the best results :)

ive found that my canuba wax goes on better by hand once its been warmed up and that applying it with an applicator pad or UDM wastes loads of it

a lot of people apply it by hand but tbh its more the expensive wax's

As my post said Mark mate...some waxes like softer ones are better applied by hand and worked in that way then the excess buffed off (reasons for doing this you have already pretty much listed lol ;))

Victoria's are a prime example and holding the tub in your hand to slightly warm up the wax first of all raises the temp a few 'C to allow easier application ;)

Some other more expensive waxes like the new Dodo Spunk 'Supernatural'
which comes in at £95 a pop give better results warmed and worked in by hand then the excess lightly buffed/wiped away...

Different brands/waxes all have best or 'preffered' methods of use tbh :)

tbh my canuba wax looks and smells mint but the results arnt the best imo and i have tried every way of applying it. too much and the shine looks abit yellowy and too little and the shine doesnt seem to be as good

i just use Chem guys M-Seal and PB Wax Sealent now

What wax were you using mate?

The results and finish can vary from the products/methods you use that's why a lot of people will say 'oh yeah i prefer this' or 'these work well together'

Down to personal preference imo but some products and combinations do produce
good results in a wide range of cases...

Its late and im babbling but you get what i mean :)
