are all the discs for the 266mm setup the same offset?

the reason i am asking is i have the carriers and calipers off a 306 S16 and am wanting to know if i 100% need to get the discs for these calipers or if i can just get another 266mm disc say off a 206 gti.

also i am currently running solid discs but it has been suggested i run vented discs as they perform better. what are peoples thoughts on this?

there are two offsets for vented 266mm brakes. there are also a few solid 266mm setups. i presume your calipers were off a car with vented discs, the s16 should use old style lucas calipers, got any pics? MCD990 mintex discs should do the job, or any for early type lucas 266mm vented. there are 20.6mm thick ones and 22mm thick ones. you want the thinner ones in theory

so the vented 266mm discs that are 20.6mm thick will be the correct ones for my setup?

unfortunately i have no pics of the calipers mate

so they're off a 306 S16, do you remember the pad shapes?

i'll upload the aftermarket brake guide, i should do a discs section for it too really, might do that tonight.

? They take mdc990 mintex discs which are the early type, of course you can probably fit the later type discs.

according to spec(MDC990 mintex or similar early type 266mm vented):
disc overall height(offset+thickness): 27.9mm
disc thickness: 20.5mm

i just measures the thickness of the disc which included the gap inbetween the vented part and got about 22mm

and yes that is what the pads look like.

so that means that i can fit any 266mm disc?

that guide was mint mate, especially the bedding in part

i suggest you measure the overall height, as that's 8mm different and i can't see the wrong discs fitting your car as they would be hitting the carriers. rust could make up 1.5mm, whereas teh big difference in overall height will show which they are.

when you say height do you meant he diameter?

or do you mean the surface of the disc that the pads can touch?

height and thickness. height is offset+thickness
