Its got to be the connections onto the speakers then mate.

1st thing to do is pull out the head unit while it is on and SHOULD be playing, then fiddle with the wires in the loom. If the music goes on and off you know whats up. If it makes no difference then pop off you speaker grill and take out the speaker.

Put the music on again, and see if moving the speaker wires makes any difference. Its all you can do really, unless the break is further down the line somewhere, in which case you will need to run new speaker cable to your speakers.

When I bought my saxo the cd player would sometimes go almost silent - Turns out the muppet who istalled it did a particularly half arsed job, including leaving the telephone mute cable as bare wire at the end, this was earthing on the head unit chassis and making it go silent. HTH

Got the same problem mate.

Currently searching the forums for a guide on how to re-wire front speakers... Not having much look though.

re wiring is just a case of feeding some speaker wire from car to door mate, pretty easy, if you can try and get it through to the multiplug

as for the speakers going off then id definately say its down to a dodgy connection or bare wire
