New coins!

[Mochachino]

The Royal Mint has unveiled the first new designs for Britain's coins since decimalisation nearly 40 years ago. The Mint commissioned new "reverse" designs for the 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p and £1 coins that feature the shield of the royal arms to partner the Queen's head on the flip side. Here's a first look at the changes to your change.

on the bbc link in my first post, it has the new compared to the old and the old ones DO look dated IMO. But agreed that they could have made better designs! Probably Blue peter badge worthy thes designs, not much more, maybe a gold blue peter badge.

Ive only just realised that the coins when laid out like that actually form parts of a complete shield... did anyone else not notice or was i just being slow!?!

they have animals on it :) i suppose you could get the green badge for that too for being abit animal orantated
