well he was out there for 9 weeks and earned £6k plus expenses with accomodation and personal (local but armed) security guard paid for! So the pay is errmm.... nice lol

Well all as I know is hes an engineer and works for a company called Tilsley and Lovatt here in staffs, specialising in fook off diesel generators. He knows what hes doing as places like Bluewater shopping Center (in Kent i think that is?) actually request him soo...! Hes also been to Sierra Leone to do a complete overhaul of a mines generators, where he had a small army protecting the mine from local Guerilla Groups! Quite crazy!

Quite a specialist job id say, some of the gennies he works on are V16 Diesels, where each piston is bigger than a dustbin and you need an engine lift just for the gudgeon pin!!!! MADNESS!

Id say coming from an Engineers position with the Navy youd walk straight into a job like that tbh! Especially being used to travelling!

Yer im in the merchant navy, been on Cable ships , super tankers, drill ships the generators here are big but the main engines are massive big 2-strokes with 1m bore 12cylinder but each unit is 2 storys high and width of a terrace house the engine room is 5 storys high lol fookin massive liners are 2 tonne need massive gantry cranes to pull them, as well as looking after the sewage systems Ac system, Fresh water generators, and the rest of the shit lol, was thinkin bout goin shore side to .

So he will get tax free money to then the ultimate bonus lol

One of my mates was tellin me about some of the shore side work sound a laugh, some of my mates got turned over in chile by some guys with pistols so would be good to have guards lol

Definitely, especially in volatile places like africa and south america! Sounds like youd be well suited to the job! And ~ £700 a week is probably slightly more than you earn in the navy! lol
If i could go back to school and choose a vocation id have to do underwater welding! that pays silly money!

and them insane liter 2 strokes must sound...different ! lol

Were totally different just normal offshore work im a 3rd engineer and on 32k a year which is bout 600 a week waiting to do my next ticket so i can sail as 2nd, I love the job as there aint many where i can get good coin and only work 6 months of the year and the other 6 months tossin it off on pay and get to see the world,

Its never to late to start a new job
