Hey guys,

Ive just bought myself an 2002 vtr and first things first i'd like to lower it. Ive no idea where to start really. With my old car (corsa) i just replaced the springs with 40mm ones, and kept the old shocks and the ride was absolutely terrible. With my new car I want to spend a little more money on it, therefore I want to get a full kit (are these called coilovers?). Anyway, im not sure how much I want it to be lowered by.. Im guessing 40mm is the standard drop - im not sure whether i want to put new 16s on the car aswell. Ive got around 250-300 to spend, all im after is nice ride comfort and low enough to look the nuts, and maybe be able to take 16" wheels in the future..

Cheers

You need to lower the torsion bar (rear) to suit this is the difficult bit the front dampners are a peice of piss to fit.

with your budget you should look at the koni sport kit. and make sure you move the power steering pipe away from the steering arm (search the forum for info). torsion bars are at the rear (2 of them, one either side), in place of conventional springs. Again, search the forum for info. :)

At 40 mm the PAS pipe aint a problem
