if you receive points halfway through the insurance year do you have to inform your insurance company or do you just inform them when your renewal comes around?

as soon as you situaition changes you have to tell them
like when you put lets say tinted windows you have to tell them otherwise your insurance is void :y:
so the same should apply to points

You gotta let them know as soon as you get them or else your insurance is void and if u make a claim you will have big problems.

I'd declare it just to be on the safe side, because if for some reason you do have to make a claim, a big claim perhaps... they will be looking at stuff to probably try and find reasons that your insurance is void.
Heard other people that have declared it and premium stayed the same, so would definitely do it. :y:

I have to say I would declare it too, like above, if you installed a mod half way through and didn't tell them, they would be rubbing their hands together if you had an accident!

With most insurance companies you declare points on next renewal after recieving them.

So if I just took out a years insurance policy and the next day I received a letter saying I will get 3 points, I would not have to tell them? Surely not, although I have no idea really!

if you get the points before you take the policy out, you have them before the renewal so u need to tell them
its like if you get taken to court, and get given 6 points, but you have been driving over 2 years on the court date, you still get banned, because the 6 points are for the offence before you had 2 years driving :)
