Hey lookin for a bit of help guys. Im gonna lower ma 51 plate vtr.

A mate recommended lowering it 60mm mwith PI springs and few clicks on torsion bar to match. But dnt wana have to shell out more for arch wrk.

Wot would u's recommend i want it lowered to get better performance and to be sorta low but without arch wrk. Any recommendation on good springs would b helpful

Cheers

If your only havin springs dont go below 40mm mate its highly recommended as your standard dampners wont like it, with 40mm there is no rubbing so no arch work needed,

40mm on 15" or 16" wheels is the usual for increased handling obviously a full kit is better than springs
50mm and lower is for looks for people who want the slammed look results are it can make your car catch on bumps and multistorys ect, and rub like a ba##ard

Im sure alot of people will back me up 40mm on 15/16" alloys is the best for handling

Im on 16's down 40mm no rubbing no arch work done and sits nice havent uploaded any pics yet but sure there is plenty on here

Yer mate springs on front and torsion bar lowered to suit, PI springs are 45 quid a set and for and extra few quid you can get better ones best just to look on net mate real easy to find,

If your budget can spare it a full SPAX VSX kit is only 160 quid and is a good alrounder Handlin and ride thats what i have.

Cheers mate

40mm lowered all round will give better handing than 60mm all round.

If you have 15' alloys then you definately will not have no rubbing down upto 60mm
16' wont have problems rubbing down 40mm if you get the lower profile 195/40/16 tyres fitted.

The torsion bars SHOULD NOT be lowered by the 'clicks' or 'notches' method as this can potentially damage parts of the rear axle in particular the bearings and/or seals

There is a proper way to do this which is much more accurate. There is a guide for this within the premium section or plenty of tips if you have a browse after using the search button to find past topics :y:

theres no rubbing or anything you need to be careful at speed bumps but thats about all !!!!

but as said you need to change the dampers !!!

standard (this is quite an old pic) tryed to resize this but it wont go smaller lol
